I love Disneyland, I have been going since I was a baby, and travel all over the globe to the different resorts. Because of my love, I will speak out when I am displeased. Disney is not perfect, nothing is. And I would counter your point and claim that Disney is not really doing a good job with it's upgrades. If so, why are there 3 versions of Imagination? Why is there concern about IASW with a phased introduction of the characters. I am not saying we should go back fully, I am saying Disney should change direction.

People complain about the new park but be grateful they put in a whole new park with really no extra cost. I had a wonderful trip less then a week ago i am glad to see the improvments and new attractions i am not going to complain and say they need to change because i dont think they have to. I am entilted to my opinion and you yours so lets leave it at that.

But I do think I am right about this. How many disabled people have you gone to the park with? How many elderly? How many young children? I am sensing not many. Walt used to talk about being down when he would take his daughters out on Daddy's Day (Saturday) and he would watch them go on a Merry Go Round or a Roller Coaster. He said he wanted to build a park that could be enjoyed by everyone. And he did just that. It was a huge enough success to spawn official and unofficial copies around the globe. But with demographically focused attractions such as an adult thrill, a Pooh ride or playground, they have lost clarity in the vision. Now to use your venacular, get over that??? Did I use that correctly? The only thing I tend to get over is my leg.

Originally Posted By davewasbaloo >>>i actually have gone to the park with kids and there are tons of kids rides<<< I don't think that is right either. The attractions should be inclusive. Again, Walt used to talk about not talking down to kids. That's why most of what he did has been successful. I would also claim that is why Pixar has been very successful, they follow the same ethos. I don't want an adult park, or a kid park, or lands. I want an inclusive theme park. That is why I fell in love with Disneyland and do not tend to go to many non Disney parks. Let's put the Walt back into Disney.

I am sure with the suggestion to people of changes and directions, we can see a return of the Walt ethos. If it were not for him, we would not have these parks. He may be gone, but he should not be forgotten. Let's put the Walt back in Disney.

Its not Walt and Roy running the show, spending extra cash to make the theme work, giving the attractions that last final touch. You now have a board of directors who only look at "how cheap can we build this" and "whats in it for me". Where Walt would mortgage his house to complete a project, the board votes in a higher bonus for themselves. The Disney stores was a good example of not paying attention to what they are doing. After the stores began to lose money, Disney sold them so the failure would not reflect on them. //////////If it were not for him, we would not have these parks. He may be gone, but he should not be forgotten. \\\\\\\\ You are absolutely correct. If it were not for Walt, there would be no magic in the Magic Kingdom. As for being forgotton, Walt Disney World was named by Roy at the dedication "so everyone would know whos dream it was". I notice now that there are ads that are advertising "Disney World", not Walt Disney World. Big business will do anything to keep interest in a product, in this case a theme park, even if it means to change a name. Keep an eye open, watch what changes, watch what dissapears and nothing is put in its place. Look at the quality of what they do build. I've seen some shocking examples, pay attention and keep track of what is going on. There are some shocking changes since the 70's to today, and it will get worse. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ID

Children are always reaching, and they should not be taught to accept any crappy entertainment you throw in front of them. They should instead be encouraged to analyze, criticize, and explain not just whether or not they enjoyed or disliked something, but why. Children deserve something more engaging than a cheap Pooh ride with painted flats and other nonsense. I think the Cars ride will actually be good, considering the work they are putting into it. But would kids reject something NOT based on the current most popular cartoon? Would they reject Tokyo DisneySea because it doesn't have enough characters? Because the rides are based on Jules Verne and not Owen Wilson the car? The rides should engage adults as well as kids. That's the whole reason the place was built!

I'm talking about a totally immersive e-ticket that basically everyone can ride and appreciate, regardless of age. Disney is obviously aware that these are quite possibly the two most popular attractions in the park. So why not take another concept and develop something similar? I'm not talking about necessarily duplicating the ride vehicles or anything like that. I'm talking about taking a concept that appeals to all, and creating a full-blown, totally immersive ride out of it. It would seem to me that this would clearly bring in the crowds. Why has Disney ignored this successful formula?
