Europe in general doesn't have so much air conditioning. I've been to DLP during summer twice and both times it wasn't that bad inside the mountain.

It always made me so angry that certain countries got amazing deals. That's why we stopped staying on property.

Given the huge number of guests going through the buildings, lots of expensive equipment and scenery, and relatively basic warehouse-style construction (from an HVAC standpoint at least), I just assumed that everything was air conditioned, like in the US Heck, when they built MK and HKDL, they even included a lot of air conditioned "outdoor" spaces. MK has since turned off the air in most of them (and turned the temperatures up indoors, leading to some mold issues with the swampy air), but you can still see the vents if you know where to look

I thought it was really annoying when I was booking my trip a while back, since they made you select your country but the US wasn't even an option. Given that I would have had to lie for whatever country I picked, I bought my park tickets as a French citizen, since they had the best prices. Luckily they never asked me for any sort of identification when I redeemed it. To this day, I still get occasional emails from DLP in French (which I can't read)!

Originally Posted By dagobert >>>Yeah, I've bought tickets from the French site before because they're cheaper.<<< How did you do that? On the official French DLP website? We have just booked our next trip to DLP and we need a one day ticket. I always assumed buying the tickets on the French website isn't possible, since we don't have a French address. Since Ferret did the same, we might just try and buy them from the French website.

We will stay in Val D'Europe again, so the Auchan is right around the corner. >>>I don't remember the process, but if I was asked for an address, I gave them the address of the hotel where I was staying in Paris. It seems like a pretty significant investment in the attraction, but I have to wonder how much life it has left in it. It always seemed pretty lame (even in comparison to the WDW one in its neglected final years) and blocks a lot of the park's future expansion space, so it would be an easy thing to just remove entirely. I suppose that work is still a while away, so the plans could change at that point. That said, if they are planning on keeping it for a long time, I'm glad that they're updating it to make it a little more relevant/interesting

I love the ride as it is. On the other hand, I it was great to see Jack at WDW. His appearances added something new. Since I don't go to WDW that often as to DLP, it was a welcoming change. As for the Studio Tram Tour, I don't understand why they will not get rid of it. It needs so much land and blocks the expansion. I guess they keep it, because WDSP doesn't have so many rides and people are still lining up for it. The station is just a steel construction and so the track and the station can be relocated easily if needed.

Originally Posted By dagobert >>>I will be at DLP in less than 2 weeks What should I not miss? Never been there and I have 2 days<<< I'm very excited for you. I will be there in October. I guess you are a regular to the US parks? I can only compare the things you shouldn't miss with Orlando. What you shouldn't miss: -- DLP - Big Thunder Mountain - Better than Florida, because it sits on an island and so you have to ride through a tunnel under the river. - Phantom Manor - The special effects are better in Florida, but it's still fantastic and it is part of the Thunder Mesa background story - POTC - It doesn't feature Jack Sparrow and it is just better than the one in Florida. - Adventure Isle - Just walk around, there are many things to discover, especially Skull Rock - Indiana Jones - Nice little coaster with a looping. Nothing special, but since it's not available in the US, you might want to give it a try. - Snow White - Because it's gone in Florida. - Pinocchio - Because it isn't part of the park in Florida. - The Dragon beneath the castle - Don't miss it. It's a fantastic AA. - Space Mountain - So much better than in Florida. Could be bumpy. It's a fast coaster with inversions and a catapult start. - Nautilus - It's just a walk through, but very cool. -- WDSP - Cinemagique - Fantastic attraction that takes into the movies. - Crush's Coaster - A fun little indoor coaster with spinning ride vehicles- - Ratatouille - I haven't experienced it yet, but it must be good. - Animagique - Cute black light show. - Rock'n'Rollercoaster - I like it better than the on in Florida, although it's the same track layout. However the prefer the lightshow over the Hollywood theming. -- In general - Try to see the good things and don't focus on the bad things, like smoking people, or broken effects. DLP is currently investing a lot to improve the parks, especially maintenance. - Get a drink at Cafe Fantasia inside the DLP Hotel. The entrance to the hotel is on the left hand side when you are leaving the parks.

The maze isn't tough to negotiate, but it does feel immersive. Don't eat in Discoveryland. Unless something amazing has happened both restaurants there are bad. There is much better fast food all over the park. Speaking of which, there is a nod to the DL Pinocchio restaurant in the DLP version. Above the door as you exit you will see that Figaro has finally gotten the "Exit" sign in the right place! I heartily agree with visiting Cafe Fantasia. It's an oasis of calm on a busy park day and only a stone's throw from the castle. If you're planning to spend dawn til dusk at the park this is a good opportunity to chill for a bit in the middle of the day. DLP is full of little pathways that barely get used or secret little corners and walkthroughs - take some time to get off the beaten track and explore. You'll have a great time. I'm about to embark on my first DL trip having been a DLP veteran since 1992 so perhaps after your trip you can share some advice on the differences?!!!
