While the boards were down, DLP got a new CEO. Tom Wolber returned to DCL to oversee construction of the two new ships. The new CEO is Catherine Powell. http://corporate.disneylandparis.co...uk-2016-04-12-Catherine-Powell-nomination.pdf
DLP opened a store at Charles De Gaulle airport. http://disneylandparis-news.com/en/...he-magic-to-life-at-roissy-charles-de-gaulle/ Refurbishment of Fantasia Gardens. http://disneylandparis-news.com/en/...f-the-refurbishment-site-of-fantasia-gardens/ And new informations about Mickey and the Magician http://disneyandmore.blogspot.com/2016/04/mickey-and-magician-at-dlp-walt-disney.html
With the removal of DHS' watertower, WDSP is now the only park with such a tower. And with Soarin' coming to TDR, dLP is also the only resort with no Soarin' ride.
Maintenance update about DLP. It's in French, but the pictures speak for themselves. http://www.disneygazette.fr/gazette...m-frontierland-mickey-magicien-news-1925.html
It's a different design, but there is also a water tower tucked away in the back corner of the Hollywood area in DCA. The 'temporary' additions they've had there for the last few years have blocked most of the views of it, but it's still there and can be seen from the tram drop-off area outside the park
It's still there, but they blocked off a lot of the space in front of it, so it's tough to get a good view of it. Unless you know it's there and actively seek it out, you'll probably miss it entirely, since it is easily hidden by the building next to it
I like the new look! I do have to wonder how well it will blend in with the rest of Discoveryland though. The old design barely fit, and this seems like it's even more different from everything else The entrance pavilion is a nice addition, but it might be weird to go through that and still have so much outdoor unthemed space before actually entering the building itself
Tucked away at the back like it is I think Star Tours can get away with not looking like the rest of Discoveryland.
That's true. To be honest most other "Tomorrowlands" are the same so DLP in some ways has faired better than most. Both DL and MK have long expanses of concrete to negotiate before you feel like you've got to the land itself even though they house signature attractions!!!
I don't mind Buzz Lightyear being in Discoveryland, but they should have used other colours for the building. They should have stuck with the same colours like the rest of Discoveryland. They grey and silver just sticks out.
I agree. I think they could have kept the same colors as the rest of the land, with some accents in the Buzz colors to make it stand out a little. As it is, it feels very different from everything else, especially with the Buzz statue there
