Arcade Beta will be transformed into a Duffy store and will sell exclusive costumes from the show. Opens Spring 2014!!! P.S. I'm joking (I hope)!!!

It allows you to remain in a Disney-quality environment, without being hit over the head with constant Disney-branded reminders. As far as I can tell, this new way of thinking is quite popular, so it will probably be expanded, but I would prefer to keep the hotel themes 'plain' (like the majority of the lands within the parks used to be).

And guests may also like it, at least on European Disney Boards. The DLH at DLP had already integrated some Disney characters, but in a more subtle way. At least one of the two SDL hotels will have a classic Victorian theme.

They should have done it only with rooms near to the Cantina.

About 3/4 of the rooms were redone in the 'normal' style, with the remaining 1/4 done in the princess style (which is really gaudy and tacky, IMO). But that's not to say that the 'normal' rooms don't have any Disney fun to them. They all have pictures of steamboats on the walls, as painted by Imagineers at various points during park concept development. If you weren't paying attention, or didn't know the picture already, you could easily miss that it was a Disney picture. Also, the headboards include small paintings (about the size of a serving platter) of a southern plantation that looks supsiciously like POR. If you look closely, you'll see that the people in the scenes are all characters from The Princess and the Frog. Despite spending a lot of time in the room on our trip, it took me until our 5th night there to realize the PATF details. This type of stuff I'm totally fine with, and actually think is fun. It's the over-the-top in-your-face stuff (like all of the Art of Animation rooms) that I really can't stand.

It was well done and fun for the kids, but this definitely fits better in the cheaper hotels because they have less to spend and it keeps the theming lighter. When they have the budget to add extra bells and whistles they can go too far as shown in the images above!!!

He who has seen the Oscar winner live, knows: it will be solid, mainstream rock that will see the crowds dancing, singing and rocking. Hopefully the new additions will be at least as good as what they replace (unlike DCA's long-term revisions)
