I totally forgot about this, wasn't it some interesting post show with games - similar to what Mission Space has? The state of that room now is a pure embarrassment! Any news on whether DLP will get ST II like the American parks? I hope that would mean a new post-show as well!

On my first DLP trip I spent pretty much the whole morning in Discoveryland and this was pre Space Mountain and Nautilus and I didn't ride Autopia (can't remember if it was even there - though I think it was!) I can't imagine doing that these days!!!
Originally Posted By Bolna I checked my old 92 Euro Disney guide books and the description of the Café des Visionaires is quite interesting... The food was supposed to be couscous, paella and salads. It is actually very funny to read those... At that time it was much less common to use English words as titles, advertising etc. and one book even translated "Frontierland" into "Grenzland"!!! A rough translation: "This dining room over the water is decorated in a contemporary style. A paradise for friends of couscous and opulent paella. The Café des Visionnaires keeps large salads with shrimps and chicken availabe for those who regularly control their weight." Another guide books calls the salads "diet salads"! I just wonder what the marketing material was that they copied there and translated into really bad German... But checking those old guide books, I also figured out what used to be in what is now Arcade A and B: an exhibition sponsored by Philips about the "ingenious inventions of modern technology" - I think it must have been the DLP version of Innoventions. Another fun fact: The Captain EO film attraction had the name "CinéMagique". And did anyone experience that Videopolis turned into a dance club in the evenings? According to my guide books that was the case...

My wife and I danced together there at the Halloween party when it was advertised as DISCOveryland 10 years ago. It was fab (so much more for adults back then, DLP is really poor in comparison now.). BTW, the AP office was the salon Donald, across from the entrance to the DLH. And I really miss the diversity of food (adventureland was pretty amazing), shopping (rugs, hats, vintage cars, fine China, silhouettes), and entertainment (dapper days, piano player at Casey's corner, Cancan dancers, Dixieland jazz on the mark twain, shoot outs, sword fights, juggle, Rock shock, star wars walk arounds as well as the Disney rubberhead fair). DLP is a shadow of it's former self.

The whole area doesn't look good. Disney should get rid of the balloons and redisgn all buildings. I know that's not going to happen.
