    They served a Monte Cristo for $7.05 in the mid-'80s, apparently...under a different-but-similar-weird-name.

I actually agree. When I was in my attendance heyday (late 80s until I began working there in 1994), I thought the burgers were tasty. Not top tier, but reliable and yummy. And served in boxes. Greasy good.

Not the dry, tasteless, served-atop-fries-in-an-open-plastic-bowl/plate. Ick.

Taste Pilots and Plaza Inn come to mind as some of our favorites. We eat a lot at Mimi's on Harbor to get some variety that is not provided in the parks. I often wonder how a kid can eat chicken nuggets, burgers, pb&j or pizza for every meal.

I had breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen the day after the 50th...I had scrambled eggs, bacon, Mickey waffles, bacon, pepperoni pizza, bacon, syrup, bacon, peanut butter pizza, bacon, Mickey chicken nuggets, bacon, apple juice and a few strips of bacon.

I remember the food at WDW being tasty, but then the only thing I ever eat at DL are churros, chicken strips and ice cream. I recall my family and I eating at the French Market in the early 90s; I had the fried chicken, and we really didn't care for it. A few years ago I had dinner at the Blue Bayou and enjoyed the pork roast.

Mine did not, ok in the 6 days we were there, they had 1 corn dog and 1 hot dog. But the other food included Steak, prime rib, mexican, clam chowder, ribs, gumbo, pizza, salads, fish.

The one burger we had was when they were asleep, and it was awesome - I love the Grand

I wonder where the discrepancy is. I can't really imagine that Taste Pilot's Grill is getting fresh ground beef daily while the Hungry Bear is sitting on Vietnam era surplus frozen patties. My guess is DLR is getting their food deliveries from the same distributor, but maybe not.

No question they are delicious. The fact you can enjoy them with a pint of Fat Tire....well, that can't be beat at DLR.

It's weird. DL's burgers are so awful that Taste Pilots' seem wonderful by camparison. And it's not just the condiment bar. In reality the burgers from TPG aren't great but the condiment bar certainly helps a ton. I don't know why DL's burgers are so bad but I don't think I'll ever try one again.

Have you ever watched children dig into the fixin's at the TPG with their hands? GROSS!

The great thing about the condiment bar is taking an inch or two or tomato slices to snack on after you leave. :)

By the 80's I stopped even getting anything there but maybe a drink, so maybe there was a brief period when they were good, but I remember the 60s'/70's burgers as dry and tasteless and cardboard-y.
