They could incorporate changes in elevations during the ride. They could create show scenes that are more illustrative of the art and culture of other lands, rather than just the simplistic 60's era 'pop art' creations. They could have one or two dolls that have some increased level of sophistication within the animation, rather than just twitching eyeballs or can-can dancers. In sum, there are a lot of things they could do to freshen this attraction and step up the show quality. This is being done in most of the other major attractions within the park. Witness the improvements on 'space mountain, 'pirates', 'haunted mansion', 'splash mountain', even the tiki room. It appears that 'small world' is going to be with us for the indefinite future, and it's hardly "perfect just the way it is".

I LOVE LOVE the art deco of the whole building ! that is the cool thing to me!.. ((( just incase you dont understand this art form of what ((( I ))) see.. have you ever noted the control tower as you bord the ride?? its so cool! its one pole holding up a round platform with a umbrella over it.. thus they are floating too!.. and have you ever noted the cool SHAPE of the umbrellas in the tropic seen... or in the mermaid room turn and look at other wall. the cute ARTFORM birds. they are so cool! I dont even look at the mermaids. I like the birds! and have you saw the face on the BIG harp by the dutch kids clicking their shoes? or have you noted the paisly light wall hanging right before the bell ringers? or the fact that MOST 50s - 60s rooms had huge drapes that go from ceiling to floor.. as does the wall hangings on there walls! SO COOL retro feeling! there is so much I love on this ride. but I see it all as a GREAT ART FORM! not a building that needs to be fixed!

Not a big deal, I find attractions that most other people skip to be repeatable for me. I think it has a great history and I think it could be updated like other attractions while staying true to the original spirit and design. As someone from outside California though, I must say that I am a huge fan of the Christmas overlay and my entire family makes a trip out West each year to see it and we can't get enough. I think it is really well done and I don't understand why WDW does CBJ but not IASW. As much as not having the showbuilding flooded is a big downer, I think the entire exterior is really well done. I think it is a big missed opportunity.
