From my understanding, most of the NextGen system will involve reservations made in advance of your visit (in large part to encourage guests to book on-site vacation packages and make the reservations early). Once you arrive in the park, there will be some kiosks (I believe MK had 2 locations during recent tests) to reserve same-day FPs. The app is really for checking attractionstandby wait times, and keeping track of all of your reservations. With all the various times reserved months in advance, I suspect that people will have a really tough time keeping everything organized; Disney's current online system is quite cumbersome to use, so I hope they change that There has been no word yet on how the reservations will work for guests staying off-site. Presumably, they would have an opportunity to reserve FPs as well, since they can currently make dining reservations, but with higher demand, they will likely have a reduced experience. However, it could also easily lead to guests cheating the system, by reserving FPs in multiple parks on the same day, using different online registrations, so those options may be limited.

Besides, wont the FP+ stuff be stored on your ticket or wrist band and used just like you do at the park entrance? Which in some ways will be great since it will keep those folks who show up 15 mins early for their FP return time and complain when they can't get in right away

It even worse over here, some fools pay over $100 a month! "^^^My dad literally asked me that the other day. And he said it "Weefee". My poor dad. He's just the cutest thing ever." LOL, that is cute.

If all that stuff is stored on your wristband, and you didn't have a smart phone, it could get very confusing keeping track of all your dining and attraction reservations. Even if they have kiosks throughout the parks, it's still gonna be somewhat of a pain to have to keep checking all the time.
