I can envision the changes as described for DHS in the article, but that price tag is absurd. OAN, I wonder what the "Universal Is Beating Disney" brigade thinks of all these rumors.

Maybe the whole resort gets that amount of money and more parks are getting new additions.

WDW got already Dinosaur, which is basically the same ride, just a different theming. However there are also rumours that WDW might get Radiator Springs Racers and that's similar to Test Track. I don't see a problem with having different attarctions with the same ride system at one resort. Otherwise there could only be one rollercoaster or one boat ride.

From what I hear James Cameron won't give Disney the time of day while this thing gets built. Disney is pretty much on their own while building it. It will also be fairly small with just two rides and a restaurant and stores. Star Wars is going be much bigger and their is actually a fan base for Star Wars. No one cares about Avatar.

That movie was so stupid, but I guess many people liked it back than. Otherwise it wouldn't have been so successful. Today, however, it seems that no one really cares about it anymore. When the rides and the land will be great, people will come. I'm curious if the new Avatar movies will be as successful as the first one.

Originally Posted By Dr Hans Reinhardt "I still don't get it, why Disney partnered with Cameron and is building Avatar Land." The film grossed $2.7 billion worldwide, that's why. Also, Avatar 2 comes out in 2017.

All I needed to do was look at the ads. What totally turned me off? BLUE PEOPLE. I mean for God's sake, everyone knows Aliens are Green or Grey or sometimes even Reddish-Brown. But they sure as hell aren't Blue. Once I watched it (largely in response to AK developing an Avatarland), I really enjoyed it. I also think the very unique landscapes of Pandora will be great at the AK. The AK has always done a remarkable job with creating a sense of place, and I expect Avatarland to be outstanding.

I hate the HP and Fast & Furious movies, but I know that a ton of people love them, therefore using those franchises as foundations for theme park attractions makes a lot of sense.

Whatever problems the movie had, it's hard to deny that it could make a spectacular land if done right. "Just because it made a ton of money doesn't make it a good movie." But it does make claims that nobody cares about sound pretty silly.
