Nobody reliable seems to know what the MK or Epcot projects are (though Illuminations appears to be safe as is for the next few years), but it sounds like it will be enough for multiple projects in each park The vast majority of the money appears to be heading to the Studios though, which is a very good thing IMO

And Matterhorn and Big Thunder at Disneyland are wildly dissimilar. Very different vehicles (posture, restraints, interaction with other Guests wildly different); very different feeling (intense bumpiness; smooth with notable sideways g-forces); very different length / pacing (1 lift v. 3 lifts; minimal show scenes v. multiple, lengthy show scenes); very different composition (2 tracks; one track); very different views (lots to see around the mountain, including monorails and parades; virtually nothing to see that contradicts the Show), etc., etc. There are many more combos at Disneyland with much greater mechanical and operational similarities, although only a very few with mechanical AND thematic similarities. Matterhorn and Big Thunder have neither.

It doesn't attempt to be an attraction (as the video implies), nor are there references to it anywhere else in the park. Given how much people complain about the lack of benches and air conditioning elsewhere in WDW, you'd think this would have been better received (and better done, but that's a different issue) >>And Matterhorn and Big Thunder at Disneyland are wildly dissimilar<< I agree, but they're still both a "rollercoaster through a mountain". As is Expedition Everest at DAK. Yet all of them are very different. Just because something has some similarities, doesn't mean that it will be the same experience And if we really want similar experiences, look no further than MK's two Dumbos, Astro Orbiter, and the Aladdin spinner; at what point do those get redundant?
