“Spotlight” writer-director Tom McCarthy is re-writing Disney’s “Christopher Robin,” bringing momentum to the live-action fantasy movie. Sounds kind of like what they tried to do with Hook (grown up Peter Pan). Great cast but it didn't work at all for me.
I like Hook. Then again, I was young enough to not know any better when I first saw it. I haven't watched it in years, but it was regular viewing in my family in the 90's
I think part of the problem was even when I was watching it I couldn't decide whether the film was meant just for those as young as ferret was at the time, or whether it was supposed to work for adults too. I'm pretty sure they were aiming for the latter. And they missed.
