-Thats just not true at all. MK is one of my favorites. DL may be your second home, therefor altering your perception of MK. Its east coast's version of the original. Different but not necassarily better or lesser than Dl.

. EPCOT is nice but ehh not worth the trip,

-Lol, this guy is a comedian. Absolutely don't listen to this joke. Epcot is awesome. There is so much to see and do! Countries to explorer, Illuminations at night, and all the great attractions in WorldShowcase...

animal kingdom is basically a zoo ehh ok its nice..but really just a 'disney-styled' zoo.

-Is this Comedy Central?..lol..AK is no zoo. Its an awesome park that has sooo much to see and do, If you actually let yourself enjoy it. Its all about the Animals and cultures of some amazing places on earth.

.MGM is terrible.. The ONLY way it would see

-If you have never been to MGM, I can't imagine going in and not having a good time. This may be right now my least favorite park in WDW, BUT, thats not saying much. There is the Tower, Rock'n'RollerCoaster, Fantasmic, Great MovieRide, Indy STuntShow, LightsMotorsAction car show, Beauty and the Beast, and more!

The only reason I remember that one is because my mother once told me how she lost her 1st place position in the school spelling bee to that word--for the very same reason! (Mine was "restaurant," LOL.) So that particular word happened to stick with me--that's all. ;-)

Love Epcot, but it is not as family friendly for the age of our kids.

MGM - I actually have a better time at Walt Disney Studios Paris

    DAK is amazing.

For me though, we have more fun at DL and DCA. The hotels, water parks, Epcot and Dak make FLa quite attractive - but the weather and critters of fla put us off too.

Have a great time at WDW - it is definately something you need to try if you've not been before. Epcot and DAK will blow you away!

I too think that DL is overall superior to MK, but will also concede that there are things at MK that are better.

World showcase in particular is a giant excuse for cash registers. Most of the individual pavilions consist of restaurants and gift shops, with very little changed over the past twenty five years. Something to do? Eat, drink and shop.

"Futureworld"? The newest attractions (testtrack, mission: space, soarin') get most of the foot-traffic. The rest of the lineup either limp along with the "SOS" or park management simply closes them altogether.

It was an enormously ambitious park when it opened, but I believe it's aging more rapidly (and less gracefully) than other parks that place more of an emphasis on "fun".

    My two cents.

25 years ago there were only four counties in the World Showcase. Now there are eleven. I think plenty has changed to keep it interesting. However, they should change the individual pavillions. The only major change that has happened back there was the replacement of the 360 film in China. Since Morocco opened in the early 90's ('92?) there has been nothing substantial added. They added the outpost which is just a Coke commercial and the Millenium Village, but that came and went. I geuss the show case isn't as spectacular as it could be.

The water parks, all the small extras (golf, boardwalk, expanded Downtown Disney, etc.) all put WDW way over the top for me. Don't get me wrong, i love the DLR too, but WDW is/will always be my first choice.

    1. Gadzuux - while I don't fully agree with your assessment of Epcot at a personal level, I totally see where you are coming from. This is why I think Westcot would have been an even bigger flop than DCA. DCA does lend itself more to whimsy than an Epcot/Westcot model.

Personally, I love almost everything in Epcot - and the spectacular Illuminations, American Adventure and Spaceship Earth still blow me away. With World Showcase, the fun is the interaction with the international cast members - gotta love it!

    2. basas - I am surprised you prefer the MK to DL. MK has less attractions, the quality is not as good (Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Small World, Autopia, Fantasyland, Toontown Fair etc.), the cast members are not as friendly, and the scale is large, losing a lot of the magic.

My only preferences where I think the MK is better are:

    - The approach to the park by monorail or ferry
    - The Train Station on Main Street
    - Crystal Palace
    - Bear Country Jamboree (used to be at DL)
    - Hall of Presidents (once planned for DL)
    - Carousel of Progress (used to be at DL)
    - and a slight not to Splash Mountain

I'd also prefer to spend a day at DCA than MGM. The only attractions the DL resort miss that MGM has that are worth anything IMHO are the Great Movie Ride and Motors Action - and maybe a yearning for Sci Fi Dine in and Prime Time Diner.

For me, the only reason to go to WDW are Epcot and DAK, the Hotels (though I prefer the Grand Californian), some of the restaurants (though again, the Napa Rose in California blows them all out of the water), and the non park attractions - Disneyquest, La Nouba, Water Parks, Fantasia Golf etc.

But we are all entitled to an opinion, and the best way to form one is to form one yourself.
