I have never travelled alone other than for work and then I am meeting with people I know.

I got to go where I wanted, when I wanted and I chose when to eat and where to eat etc. Sometimes it is nice to just do whatever you want without any consideration for what everyone else you travel with wants. Everytime I have been in Disneyland, I find I meet so many people in line. My family always comments about why I have to talk to everyone. I love talking to new people! I don't think I would be lonely in Disneyland except maybe at the hotel. IMHO, the perks outweigh the loneliness!

You can end up with more company than you really want. My best times have been at the hotel bars where people really loosen up! I will admit that I used to feel a little odd riding Peter Pan or Pinnoccio alone, but hey, I have as much of a right to that seat as anyone in the park, and I kid myself that I am a business traveler who has a little extra time to kill in L.A. while putting together a big deal for the company! It's all good, it really is.

Took me about an hour to get there) and I totally cured it with a trip around the park on the train first thing.

I watched Billy Hill & then went & walked the island which I hadnt done forever. I'm working on my courage for all that chatting up people in line. I plan on doing lots of things I've never done like Billy Hill and Tom Sawyer Island and most of DCA.
Originally Posted By danyoung >I am worried about the loneliness although I do lots of things on my own.< I enjoy doing things with others, including visiting the parks. But much more often than not I hit the parks solo. And I find that I'm perfectly happy going for many hours without saying a word to anyone. And if the opportunity comes up for a conversation with someone in line or at the table next to me, it's a very nice diversion. The coolest thing is not having to decide by committee where to go next, and the ability to change up at a moment's notice if there's a long line or if you see something that's just starting that you want to experience. Don't sweat it - you're gonna have a blast!

WHen I went to WaltDisneyWorld alone, I used it as a photograhic adventure, getting pictures that I would never have gotton if I were with anyone else. You can take your time and take pics or even record sounds if you are into that. What you can do is unlimited if you have the imagination. Some people do not enjoy being alone in a park like WDW or DL and some can take advantage of being single and enjoy the free movement that only one person can have. What ever you do I hope you have a great time. If you do some of the charactor dinners, you can get some great pictures there too. Good luck, have a great time ID
