At the time my kiddies were like 2 & 3 and I declined their offer and headed out to Walmart all by myself. What a luxury it was NOT having two little ones putting toys into the cart and having to go to the bathroom every 5 minutes. I like to get the best deals at the grocery store. I shop their ads and use coupons and I hold out on my loyalty card until the end so I can see the savings "tick" off the total. I guess it's the same rush people get at a slot machine! I feel accomplished when I save more that I spend. Last night I spent like $34.00 and saved $22.00. My record is spending $23.00 and saving $82.00. I'm not a big Mall shopper - but LOVE Ikea too amazedncal2! Thankfully my kids' Christmas gift cards are almost spent. I'm getting tired of either taking them to a mall or driving/picking up gaggles of teens. And I can spend hours in bookstores and I don't even mind Best Buy once in awhile.

For some reason most grocery stores in va. are about 40-60,000 sq ft and very very dated. At least Loblaws isn't anywhere near Gelson's in price. It's alot more like a Wegman's or Albertsons or Lucky. If I'm interested in something I like to shop, however I'm also a quick shopper making most decisions "split second" I tend to shop based on "value", ie cost per 100 gram, or feature/look/speed for money. A lot of people seem to shop with their "heart". Oh and grocery shopping when hungry is the best way... (at least for the store owner)
