Is this right? It wouldn't bother you? You'd jump right in? You wouldn't mind being told every day that the pool was closed (they don't announce why, naturally) when you wanted to use it?<< I would be angry. As DVC stated a swim diaper does wonders. My son wore one all the time. Some parents just don't care who and what they affect. They feel just as long as they don't have to deal with their kids, than oh well. Well, Oh well this because one thing such as a person using the pool as their personal facility, can make for a bad vacation for the rest of us. Too bad those parents and whoever does this sort of stuff can't be marked with a big red strip that lasts the rest of their vacation. This way they would be band from the pool area so the rest of us respectful people could enjoy our vacation.

A swim diaper may keep the pieces from floating around, but does it keep the bacterial from getting in the water? I doubt it. If I were Disney I would ban children in diapers from the pool. Period. When I was growing up (back in the olden days), no on ever THOUGHT of putting a diapered child in a swimming pool!! What the heck has the world come to anyway? If Disney figures guests would throw a hissy fit if they can't put their diapered rug-rat in the water, they should at least create shallow wading pools for the young'uns and keep the real pools clean.

We all know you are getting to the point where diapers are going to be needed ... so I'll excuse your questioning. <<- if they closed the pool 4 days out of 5, but the didn't announce why, how did you come to the conclusion that all 4 days was because of the pooh problem?>> Because one time I was in the pool when said substance was found. Another time I watched as it was fished out and placed in a bio-hazzard bag. Another time I watched as a poor, blond lifeguard had to go in and dive for crap (God, I couldn't make this **** up if I wanted to!). And the last time I heard the lifeguards talking about it. I likely have averaged 40 nights a year in WDW resorts over the past 20 years. I have witnessed this crap going on countless times. And, yeah, I have a big problem with it because Disney needs to adapt and its doing a (blanky) job of it. If guests are going to do this, they need to get tough. This isn't just disgusting, which should be enough. It is a potential health issue for young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems. Why do I sense it taking a major problem or lawsuit before Disney wakes up and smells the poo?

There's a reason Disney has them. <<At any rate, I think it is totally disgusting. And I don't think swim diapers help the problem. If that's going to ruin someone's trip, then I'd suggest they rent a house with a private pool and let the brats use it as a toilet ... or, here's a novel idea, don't come to WDW until the kids are older. <<When I was growing up (back in the olden days), no on ever THOUGHT of putting a diapered child in a swimming pool!! I haven't got a clue ... <<If Disney figures guests would throw a hissy fit if they can't put their diapered rug-rat in the water, they should at least create shallow wading pools for the young'uns and keep the real pools clean.>> Rest assured if I would have complained another note would wind up in my file. And the mid-level manager I'd speak to would likely either think I'm crazy or get angry that I expect he/she to do anything about it or try bribing me to go away with a free dinner.

Not sure but if what you say is true it seems to be making a major impact on the overall guest experience and does need to be dealt with in a posistive manner....hopefully they will...How is the infant/toddler thing handled at the water parks?

They made everybody get out for about 30 minutes so they could do all that, but it really wasn't that huge of an inconvenience. It just seemed a little gross to get back in the water. I suspect that it could be done even quicker in WDW, since it was actually three fairly large pools that were terraced and connected by slides, so less water could probably be treated faster.

Someday we will get back to where society is structured for adults and children fit in where they can. Then the great majority of us will enjoy life a whole lot more and the children will be much better behaved. People may now shoot arrows at me.
