Agreed. I was worried after our last trip to WDW in 2006 where we really felt ripped off, and nickle and dimed (and there was very little stuff of quality to buy, we came back with money in our pockets we had budgeted to happily spend).

Paris has variable experiences, but overall we are often very happy there (though $18 for one hamburger meal is very pricy, $72 for one at the table service places with dubious service in some).

WE wanted to take the children on a long trip home to California before we were trapped by the piracy of school vacation costs and limited time periods. Of course that meant we had to go to DL and meet our LP friends. I was very nervous, afterall DL was my obsession for as long as I could remember. And despite being frustrated by the toon fixation of late, we had an awesome time. One of our best Disney trips in my lifetime!!!! We never felt ripped off, nor nickel and dimed. Everything we bought or ate was quality.

So I do think it is a WDW thing. It's a real shame. The scary thing though is I see some of the behaviours coming into DLP (buffets, dining plans, flex hours, menues dumbed down).

I brought back $800.00 in cash that I had alloted for things. The nickle, and dime action really got to me this trip Dave. My solution was to keep my money in my wallet. I normally fill those little white gloves up with green.

I just might look into the Amtrak deal. I love to travel by train even though it takes a long time, and is very pricey.
