This will probably sound lame, but I bought it, specifically, for several boxsets by 'a band I love'(I won't mention the name, I sound like a broken record) that are being relased this month and in the coming months. The first set contains 5 of their albums, all remixed + 6 live DVD's of different shows(all from the '70s). Two more sets will be coming out in the next year.
Unfortunately, I have to purchase the import, the US version will only have regular CD's.
Seems like SACD is either a dying breed here in the US, or just never caught on. But, it's really worth it.

Also, people did not want to upgrade their receivers to get the 6 channel analog inputs just for these 2 types of audio. Alot of the reason they said was that the audio didnt outweight having to add at least 3 cables to your wiring vs 1 optical (or coaxial) digital cable. Stupid reasoning I know, but that was one of the biggies.

What's the difference between a computer salesman and a used-car salesman?

The used-car salesman knows when he's lying.

The other thing about the CC salespeople, is that they fed the same line of crud to so many people, that they started to believe it themselves.

Who cares? I shop the internet, decide, and then roll to Best Buy to buy. I don't need a salesperson to lie to me, especially about the extended warranty, which is what happened to me at Circuit City TWICE! SHAME ON ME!!! Well not again, and you can take that to the bank.

I use these stores for their displays and the ability to see products up close. Other than that, there's not much reason to spend any money at Circuit City or Best Buy.

But then, I don't have a great deal of disposable income, so I tend to be very penurious with every penny.

Whenever someone gives me the hard sell on an extended warranty I always tell them that I never buy insurance for non-catastrophic events.

Re: Starbucks. The coffee is terrific, the people who serve it are very nice, and it's quick. I do make coffee at home every morning, but sometimes it's fun to go out and get a consistent, good cup of coffee that is served fresh, hot and great tasting.

Buying a cup of Starbucks coffee for me is the same rationale that allows me to go out for lunch.

Yes, I can make food at home, but it sure is nice to go somewhere and have someone else do the preparation, the serving and the clean-up.

I'm sure it is a whole lot cheaper to make your own coffee than to buy it at Starbucks, but are you really considering all of the costs associated with home brewing? Here's all the things you pay for to make it yourself:

    1) Coffee Beans
    2) Filters
    3) Coffee Maker
    4) Coffee Mug/Cup
    5) Electricity for the coffee maker
    6) Water for the coffee maker
    7) Electricity for the dishwasher to clean the coffee cup
    8) Water for the dishwasher to clean the coffee cup
    9) Detergent to clean the coffee maker and cups
    10) Gasoline to get you to the store to buy your coffee beans
    11) Transportation to get you to the store to buy your coffee beans

Does all that equal the cost of a Starbucks cup of coffee? Probably not, but it's more costly than you initially suspect. There's the cost of overhead in everything we do, not just the cost of beans at the store.

Yes. It is FUN. As far as I'm concerned, fun is the most valuable thing there is.

Re: extended warranties. If I buy a $2000 computer that has a one-year warranty, I'm sorry, but I buy the extended version that takes me in to years 2 and 3. Maybe I'm an idiot, or not looking at the small print, but comp. repairs can be quite costly, and it's worth it to me.

I've not seen people doing this at Starbucks. Has anyone else?
