No, I truly meant it as a compliment.

I enjoy bantering with you here on all matters. One of the few joys I still get from the online Disney fan communities.

Been meaning to send you a note and will (hopefully) do so over the weekend!

True, but to be fair back in those days shops weren't all Disney characters/franchises.

Do you recall when the second level was all kewl science related toys and techno gizmos? (before it became the first Art of Disney locale at EPCOT)

I dare you to find five non-Disney products in MouseGear.

<<There was actual fear that Figment was outpacing Mickey for popularity for a period.>>

I don't recall that at all, unless you are speaking from just an EC perspective (which is true).

It's amazing he's still so popular when he's been shoved awkwardly back into what was once a wonderful attraction and many folks skip the pavilion entirely.

To be fair, though, TWDC management LOVES those kind of questions and rants from folks who appear to be ... well, nuts.

You think The Weatherman would rather talk Dreamfinder or monorail deaths? Song of the South or living wages for CMs? Fastpass availability or lowered standards across the board at WDW?

Nope ... Bob likely prayed for questions like the softballs lobbed at him in San Antonio.

Oh c'mon Merfie, that ain't true.

They've gone down across the entire Disney empire ... although I see signs of improving in Anaheim and Paris more so than O-Town.

Let's be honest here, dude. You went to SoCal to become an Imagineer and you weren't pretty enough (that was what you've said in a prior post, right?) and things haven't gone great for you out there.

As someone who has lived in 90210, I can appreciate how LA can eat ya up and spit you out (it didn't quite do that to me, but I did see enough of it over the years).

So, now you're stuck on the left coast and suddenly redneck Orlando is sounding better all the time.

    It's not.

Just a different version of bad.

But if you truly believe Orlando is better and WDW is a shining beacon of Disney theme park greatness, my advice would be to get your arse back ... rest assured with Disney's vast array of Orlando cast, someone would find you plnety pretty!

Add me to this list Brother Dave. Actually, watching the original on You Tube, I don't think the original would have aged well at all. But I do miss the upstairs section, that was fantastic.

Well mostly because this is a board deicated to WDW. However I have read Davewasbaloo's posting of the deminishing quality of DLP.

Besides, WDW is the Big Kahuna, the Numero Uno of Vacation destinations. Thus it ganders more bad publicity than other Disney Parks, rightfully or wronfully so.

The word you were seeking, my friend MP, is "engenders". "Ganders" has something to do with geese.

I don't think there's any doubt, either inside or outside of the Disney corporate structure, that WDW is the top of the heap of vacation destinations worldwide. Doesn't mean that they have the best single park - just that as an overal location it has the most visitors and does the most money.

I was with you on the first half of this sentence, and completely against you on the second half. Yeah, there's stuff at WDW that could be better. But overall it's a terrific place to visit, with lots to do, plenty to see, and a great amount to eat and drink. What could be wrong with that?

Why Merf? Isn't WDW known as the #1 vacation spot for the World.

Actually the expression I was trying to convey was of looked at as. I still think gander works in this instance.

    From the free online Dictionary
    gan·der (gndr)
    n.
    1. A male goose.
    2. Informal A look or glance: "Everyone turns and takes a gander at the yokels" (Garrison Keillor).
    3. Informal A simpleton; a ninny.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Thanks for the help though.

I agree with you Dan, it's a great vacation destination. However for me personally the price point no longer exceeds the experience.

It's just flat out to expensive in some areas, and the quality has dipped in some areas, to where I no longer feel I can continue to support Disney with my vacation dollars. That doesn't mean I don't still love WDW. It just means I know longer feel it is worth the amount of money I have spent on it in the past.
