Thought is always a good thing.

I don't open up about myself online, except to the extent I feel is prudent.

As an aside, I didn't mean by response to be ... well, mean. I've read enough of your posts to realize you aren't happy with your life in SoCal and life is way too short to be unhappy (or not have true universal healthcare!)

Interesting analogy. I kinda like it ... I think WDW's biggest issue is its size. It's not a coincidence that the bigger WDW has gotten, the lower the quality of the individual pieces that make up the pie have too.

I think every other Disney resort has suffered by a 'let's put the WDW model' on them ...

(BTW, Dave ... emailed you a return a few days ago, but it didn't go through and had to resend ... hope you got it!)

It's just flat out to expensive in some areas, and the quality has dipped in some areas, to where I no longer feel I can continue to support Disney with my vacation dollars. That doesn't mean I don't still love WDW. It just means I know longer feel it is worth the amount of money I have spent on it in the past.>>

And I agree with you, Pierce.

What's worse is, though, I never pay close to what many others here do. No DVC. No rack rate rooms. No dining plans (except when free). No hard tickets. All my Disney spending comes with AP or CM discounts. I almost NEVER buy merchandise anymore unless it's at Prop Control. And 2009 marked the first year since sometime in the 1980s that I didn't spend one night at a WDW resort (and there have been years where I've spent 40 nights at WDW resorts, scary, I know).

And even with my vastly reduced spending at WDW, I still cringe at the price points and the staleness of much of the product.

It's still a very, very nice place. And one I love spending time at ... but it is very different from the place that hooked me on pixie dust in the 70s and 80s.

    VERY!

    No.

But I did consider starring in ABC's new Wednesday night sitcom 'The Middle' until I found out I'd have to work with Patricia Heaton. What a (blank)!!!

hence, we just cancelled our vacation plans for WDW and are going somewhere else. I just couldn't pay the prices I was being quoted. It's like I was being forced off property. I finally realized it is my money and I will dictate terms.

I feel that more people are starting to feel the same way CDD. WDW use to make me feel special. Now I feel like they only want my money.

I'm sure I will visit again someday. I'm just not sure when.

I know your family will enjoy your vacation where ever you choose to go.
