Marvel's Ulitimate Line retold many of the origin stories of their main characters, Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four etc. But they updated them for today's audiences. So what you wouldn't have seen in a comic 30 years ago, you'll see today.

I just have to ask, do you rail against the Walt Disney Company, because they have pushed more magic on our kids than JK. Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Little Mermaid, Sword and the Stone with a Merlin character very much like Dumbledore. Peter Pan, Pinnochio, and so on. Snow White alone should have the religious right storming the castle. Serious dark magic and stuff like, cutting the young ladies heart out of her chest and bring it to me in a box. Way more grusome tha little Harry Potter. My guess is its not the Harry Potter stories that scares the right wing, but the popularity. If Harry was on the level of The Scarlet Letter they wouldn't be burning piles of books>>

No crap Sherlock, once again a case of someone not reading my entire post. Perhaps I should have rephrased so people can understand. Maybe along the lines of

"Oh good the Religious Right already hated the books because of the supposed "witchcraft" elements now they'll reaallly hate it."

Maybe then some of you can understand what I wrote.

My bad, to everyone else, apply my comments to yourself only if your you hold the opinion that Harry Potter books were sent here from Satan to influence your innocent angels into a wicked life of gay magic.

It seems a little odd to me, but what's the argument exactly, that every kid who reads the book will want to follow suit in socery and witchcraft?

Again, this is a REAL question lol.

For the most part they seem well grounded.

It's also strange because Narnia and the Lord of the Rings series are huge among Christians and those contain heavy fantasy type elements that could potentially offend.

When did they bomb the 96 Olympics? I remember the bombing and the authorities falsely accused Richard Jewell of the bombing, but I didn't think they ever caught the real person.

As for Tinky-Winky, I'll gladly lead that protest. I remember watching my friend's kid once when the Teletubbies was huge. So I was sort of forced to watch it and I thought ingested some peyote.

I was pretty sure I got what you were going for. Hence the smiley in my post.

As for the Olympics, the actual bomber was Eric Rudolph, who was an anti-abortion guy who also bombed at least one abortion clinic. He hid out in the woods for years before he was finally captured.

Richard Rudolph. Hid out in the NC mountains for an extended period. He bomded a gay bar, an abortion clinic, and '96 Olympics.
