I did not realize that. I do know, though, that here in Texas once a felon has completed his parole and paid his debt to society in full, he (or she) can register and vote again. I was shocked when I learned that, but I learned it from a voter registrar, so I tend to believe it's true. And, good for Texas doing something correct for once!

It is much cheaper to mail out ballots than to run so many polling places. It does kind of suck though...I like voting in person and getting my sticker. Each county that does have absentee only voting does allow you to vote in person at the county's election headquarters, but for me that is about 45 minutes away.
