I don't think so. This is a case where bloggers have helped kill off a great attraction. Even Al Lutz said that Mission Space was WDW's best attraction. I agree.

And 1 uncle who has some claustraphobic conditions of his own, and knows it's a tiny capsule with one stupid tiny monitor as it's "window". And while other deaths have happened on other attractions ... none of them have barf bags attached .. and reports of people coming off the ride sick. It's the combination of all these factors, along with all the bad press of the 2 deaths (both within a year's time!) that have killed this ride's interest for many people .. including certain family members of mine! >>Even Al Lutz said that Mission Space was WDW's best attraction.<< And isn't our very own Doobie who does not like Pirates of the Caribbean (!). There you have a case of pure "preference".

I would guess some of them would have bypassed other thrill attractions at WDW as well. I'm not saying that Mission Space is for everyone; but many other attractions aren't either. My wife won't ride any coaster, flight simulator or drop ride so that takes a fair number of attractions off her list too. I just hate it when people infer that somehow Mission Space is so much harder to take than any other Disney attraction when it really isn't. By the way... I am also extremely claustrophobic and was very worried about MS for that reason. I found that the combination of concentrating on the image projected on the screen in front of me combined with the strong circulation of air in the cabins kept me from having problems. <<And isn't our very own Doobie who does not like Pirates of the Caribbean (!).>> I always ride Pirates to show respect for a classic. But would it be in my top ten favorite MK attractions? Nope. Doobie is right.

And tomorrow .. the unc and the nephew are doing Expedition Everest .. and then blow out of there .. and make a bee line for fastpasses over at D/MGM for Rock'n Rollercoaster and ToT. I'm trying to convince the claustrophobic uncle to ride ToT .. for it's a cage with an opening. Not like a normal elevator carriage. I told him he's gotta do it. It's the superior one to DCA's. I'll be getting my "trip report" sometime tomorrow (Sunday) night.

Relevance is key to these projects and El Rio de Tiempo just never worked. Such an amazing immersive environment inside the Aztec pyramid but the attraction was starved of cash in the end (sounds like most of the attractions in WS).

While I have some hope that the Three Caballeros will help El Rio, I would hate for all of World Showcase to become the Wonderful World of Disney Showcase...

I think Pinnochio would be appropriate for Italy and maybe a touch of Beauty and the Beast in France. I'm not advocating the cartoonization of World Showcase, but a little whimsy that directly relates to the stories organic to each country wouldn't be a bad thing in my opinion.

Well, I had no problem with Bubba or any of the other current presidents. But Maya Angelou? I completely HATED her read! It was so OH-VER-THE-TOP-E-NUN-CEE-AYE-TED that the message was lost in the verbal gymnastics. I'm not that wild about the current guy, either, but he's MUCH better than Maya. I'm sure she's a great poet and probably a great person. But she got some really bad direction on this one.
