    I suppose that's a fair point.

I remember being mildly amused when Douglas accused me of parroting some talking point in which I'd actually done NO reading whatsoever and was simply speaking off the top of my head.

So, I guess you speak off the top of your head a lot like the right wing noise machine. :p

    Sorry to hear that! Later.

George Soros is probably the heaviest contributor to the far left causes in America.

The same percentage as if it were earned income would be a good start.

<<Exactly how much money do you expect wealthy people to risk in investment with a diminishing profit margin?>>

There was no shortage of real investment when the rates were equitable. I don't see how reducing taxes on speculative "investments" in stocks or real estate helps the little guy. These days the uber rich are only interested in offshoring every job they can.

You can call it class envy if you want, all I know is that they don't give a rights behind about our welfare, which means we have to watch out for ourselves.

But we Americans aren't supposed to feel or think that way. We are supposed to be happy with our a stagnant wages and collapsing buying power while the super rich amass an ever larger percentage of the pie, while we al sing in unison "God Bless America".

How about everyone being somewhere in the middle class spectrum.

Where I live, very few people live below the poverty line, and very few people earn much more than $200,000 per year, with the extreme high earners (company presidents and such) never making more than around 500k to a million MAXIMUM.

    Works for me. :)

    Sad, ain't it?

But I don't think anyone from Nixon to Reagan would recognize the neo-con, religious right, ignorant masses that have taken over the party now.

which is why I am a not party aligned moderate today

In order to be fair, let's pass a new law. Everybody that makes over $250,000.00 must turn in all money, that exceeds said figure, to the government for redistribution.

I'm positive they know how to use our money better than we do.
