I hope your prognostication is correct, Spirit. There is soooo much potential with EPCOT that's yet to be realized, I'd love for Uncle John to roll up his sleeves and dig right in!!

And hats off and MAJOR kudos to VP Jim for making this happen!! I'm absolutely thrilled about the 25th decorations and festivities! I so much want to be there!! (Now if some really terrific people in the East Bay would hurry up and release their latest class schedule so I might have the ability to book a flight and a room for three weeks from Monday if there's no scheduling conflict... AARRGGHH!!)

BTW... does anyone know what happened with the testing of the Meeko raccoon in DCA a while back, using the LCI technology?

Wouldn't that be a WONDERFUL interactive presentation for Figment meet-n-greet at the pavilion?

I am very pleased with the direction they are finally moving Epcot in...I look foward to hearing about a redo of the Imagination pavillion to restore the original figment and dreamfinder, removal of the Ellen lamegeneriss overlay of Energy, and the removal of leave a legacy and those dumb canopies around the communicore area.

Wouldn't it also be awsome if they brought back communicore and ripped all the stuff blocking the sun from coming into those buildings. They used to be so bright inside and nwo they are so dark.

    - Reopen Odyssey restaurant
    - Bring back Magic Journeys and/or Captain Eo for some encore presentations at the Magic Eye Theatre
    - The entire park stay open LATE for every night like they used to.

One thing does seem pretty clear: EPCOT Center is about to return in a big, big way.

I'd rather see WDI move forward with new ideas (and ones that don't get watered down by accountanteers).

I would like to see them tear out mission space and build the REAL space pavillion that imagineering wanted to build all along! The one with multiple attractions inside the building and theming that makes you feel like you really are inside of a space station.

Yeah. I definitely look better in a tux ... although I'm thinking just nice suit for the Red Carpet next week! ;-)

<<I hope your prognostication is correct, Spirit. There is soooo much potential with EPCOT that's yet to be realized, I'd love for Uncle John to roll up his sleeves and dig right in!!>>

Yep. And there really is a very positive vibe for much of WDW. I hear that Joe Rohde is working on something 'major' for DAK and Rivers of Light will be coming soon, although it's been pushed back a bit. The Studios will be getting A LOT of new stuff over the next few years.

The only park that really has nothing ahead is the MK (I know this shocks you). I keep hearing E-Ticket for 2011, but I absolutely don't believe it. WDW has gotten by without addind anything of substance since the early-mid 90s period, so why should they know?

But this is a positive thread, so let's not rip the MK here (besides, the Mansion redo is way kewl!)

You should. You never know what Spirits may want to meet you!

<<BTW... does anyone know what happened with the testing of the Meeko raccoon in DCA a while back, using the LCI technology? >>

WOW! I so totally forgot about that. Wasn't that about 3-4 years ago now?

<<Wouldn't that be a WONDERFUL interactive presentation for Figment meet-n-greet at the pavilion?>>

yeah, it would ... come to think of it, it'd also work very well with many of the Muppets too!

One of these will very likely happen soon. You likely can guess which if you really think about it.

This EPCOT Center situation isn't about bringing back Horizons or Commincore or the WorldStations etc ... it's about a REBIRTH (watch Iger will steal this for his speech on the first!) of the EPCOT Ideal.

I think what you'll see in the future is a park that is going forward and expanding and dynamic (without forgetting its history), yet one that feels a whole lot more like the EC of the 80s and early 90s than the muddled mess advertised as 'Disney's Discovery Park' for the last decade.

I'm tempted to use the term retro-futurism here, but I don't believe that is correct either.

What will likely transpire is a more cohesive park that has a vibe like the original EC had, but with new experiences and attractions (and dining as well!)

I'd also expect to finally see a new Illuminations show by the end of the decade, something that has been on-again, off-again so many times before. And as much as I love RoE, it's time for a change.
