They take a formerly wide open entryway and turn it into a fenced in gulag where your only entry points are very narrow gaps in the perimeter. It seems that there would easily be a better way to do this that looked better while accomplishing the same thing.

Nice walk, too. I find the front area of the park extremely unattractive and not enjoyable to enter anymore. I prefer to feel like I'm entering a theme park, and the IG still does. And it's a bit safer too, often without many people.

There's no ambiguity as to where you're coming from or going. It's never crowded, even on busy days lately. NYE will be the real test, but it should run much smoother once the trams unload at the proper side. Right now the only wrench in the works is the tram unloading at the monorail/bus entrance. It's not meant to be and congests the area.

Originally Posted By nbodyhome It's more congested than long lines, though the last bag check I had there was more than a 3 minute wait (this week). Originally Posted By mousermerf They don't line up at the same place, that's just it. There are two bag checks. Both can handle many people if staffed. They usually staff the left side, move the CM's to the right (under monorail) and leave one person at the left. If it was operating properly, Monorail and Buses would goto the right while the tram would goto the left.

I didn't realize till the end of my visit this last week that I was walking out of my way to go to the bag check that's nearest the ticket booths, only to find out that if I veered left I could enter through the other gate that was much closer. I think one of the most confusing things about the layout is that the gates run left to right across the entryway, but then at the bag checks you take a 90 degree turn to go through. Seems very strange to me, and not at all neccessary.

It unloads to that plaza, the guests enter through the left security point, and the tram advances to the loading area under the monorail walkway. It would split the guest flow pretty evenly.
