Grated, I haven't been on the ride to judge how much you get tossed around, but I it looks to me like there are sufficient places to hold onto that would prevent a rider from sustaining back and neck injuries.

I don't know the forces on the new ride but I've been in wooden coasters where I've tried to hold myself in place and couldn't help but be tossed around some.

Maybe it's the victimization society we live in, I don't know.

But this situation sounds so full of holes, I could use it a Swiss cheese substitute on my sandwich. Yet, there are already 70-plus posts discussing a situation which didn't happen.

I don't feel taken in so much as I enjoy shooting at the holes in the story.

My son was sitting in front of me on Gold Rusher at Magic Mountain and his lap bar popped up half way through the ride. He was about 8 at the time and riding alone in the car. He knew enough to hold the bar down with his inside arm and wrap his outside elbow over the side of the car to hold himself in place. When we pulled into the station, the employees could have cared less. While it was scary, he wasn't hurt in any way.
