People that appear to have all decided to stop at the same place at the same time for no reason.

As the guests start to interact and entertain one another while waiting for this event that has not appeared yet a wonderful thing happens. People smile. This is Disney magic at it's best.

When the area finally transforms the anticipation is a shared emotion as is the amazement that follows. Even if the MGM show was as good the experience still could not match that at DL for me.

The show is fine but it is just that, a show. As I said DL's is a true event. I'm glad and sad I saw it first. It did ruin me for the MGM version.

That used tobe the case but not anymore in my latest experience... Seemed to me you don't have to wait more than 45 mins for a good spot if you are willing to see the 2nd performance in the evening. We got close enough to the center and had a great view of the show just 45 mins before it started. I do have to say...traffic in that area is horrendous when the 1st Fantasmic lets out and the crowd for the 2nd show is coming in after the firework shows is over.. *THAT* to me is the trying part, not the waiting for the show, but getting to the audience area.

Well i'm sure the second preformance is probably much easier...I last saw DL's Fantasmic in July, and the spots filled up very early and standing for that long so packed in wasn't very comfortable. I actually found getting out wasn't too bad of a problem though (compared to MGM's- which i last saw at the end of August). I did have very good spots for the Dl version and was very impressed the CM's were strict about people in the 'sitting area' sitting down and even folding their strollers up! But there looked to be alot of spots for DL's where seeing the action would be difficult- as there are many trees, and not an especially high elevation in the land. Still, having the show on RoA, and TSI is really neat....I guess i just love both shows! :)

We kept walking toward Splash, looking for a good area to go, and there was a huge empty area just behind the pole, so we snagged it. We were behind the show operators, so we defiantely got a good view.

I'm sorry if I came off as anti-fun and happy :-\ I do enjoy the show I was just saying I don't think it earns the accolades it gets. I like the show and as I said it's one of my favorite shows at Disney (One of the only ones I watch along with Little Mermaid - I'm not counting 3d movies but I like those too) and I'll try to see it everytime I go, I just think people put too much stock into it. I know for me personally I think it sort of lessened my experience with F! because as I said I expected it to blow me away. I enjoyed it thoroughly but it did not blow me away and for that I felt a little cheated. It's like asking a kid "Would you like the most delicious candy in the world?" - and then handing him a Snickers bar. A Snickers bar is great, it's tasty and most children probably love them - but after the hype the kid probably would be let down. If you just said "Would you like some candy?" and giving them the Snickers they'd be very happy but by leading them to believe there's something greater in store and letting them down that same Snickers bar will be less enjoyable for them. (I do not work for Snickers please do not ADMIN me)

I guess I just didn't want people who haven't seen to expect the moon and the stars as I did. I also wanted to make the point I've never seen the DL one because a lot of naysayers to MGM's version have and that's why they aren't so thrilled about MGM's. I think maybe it's the same effect I had with expectations, but for all I know I'd feel the same about DL as MGM.

Anyway it IS a darn good show and everyone who goes to MGM should see it.

I enjoy both, but won't go to the MGM more than once a year, but I do go to DL every trip out there. The only real problem with the DL show is that, if you see the first presentation, you'll miss the new fireworks show. And there aren't always two F! shows, so sometimes it requires a choice.

I wish they would hold the fireworks at 10, not 9:25...i remember wanting to save seeing Remember until the final day of the holidays but saw half of it while exiting...it basically starts as SOON as Fantasmic finishes...

That was probably me - it's still my go to spot!

And to TDLFAN I'll say that, while I agree with you in every way about DL's superiority over MGM's F!, I don't doubt that those who have never seen DL's version are thrilled with the Florida version. Hey, I loved burgers till the first time I tried steak!

You lost me there. My point was that, while a comparison of the 2 shows by most who've seen both will almost always go DL's way, that's still no reason to try to talk someone out of enjoying the Florida version, as many people do online. Let them have their fun, and then let them be blown away on a left coast visit!

I'm not convinced that any seat at Fantasmic is that much better than any other (except stay away from the ones in front unless you like getting wet). After waiting about 90 minutes the first time we decided never again.

Now we show up about 20 minutes before the performance and take whatever seats we can. We usually end up high in the center section or about midway up in one of the side sections. Of the two, we prefer being in the side section.

Save your wait time for after the show. It is a much more enjoyable experience if you just sit where you are for 15 minutes after the show and let the hordes disperse in front of you.

Although I don't doubt that DL's Fantasmic is better, the Florida show is still very worthwhile.
