I still don't get why Disney now has him on their 'must invite this whore' list to anything and everything ... but I guess it's because people do read him. Of course, more people read Al Lutz and other spirits ... and no one at Disney wants Lutz anywhere near one of their teflon execs. <<MPierce - you should start a rumor here about WDW and see if he picks it up!>> I'll start one instead ... because I do believe it. And that is simply that many people at Disney are suddenly realizing this new Fantasyland project is going to be a capacity nightmare and some facets (as you likely know!) have gone back to the drawing board and some will likely be axed. But still no serious chatter of anything being built at MK beyond this project. Certainly nothing of Harry Potter caliber! ~Disney: Specializing in Recycled Magic For Over a Decade!~

The very fact that there is some chatter about it says something.
Originally Posted By Spirit of 74 <<You don't think that this will spark any change at all? The very fact that there is some chatter about it says something. >> Change? In what regard? In terms of the Fantasyland project? Yes, I think the thoughts of two-hour-plus waits for glorified meet-greet-and-gropes will result in changes to the project. In terms of a real response to Harry Potter? Not likely. But if there are still huge lines next year and if the merchandise keeps jumping off the shelves (while the Iron Man crap at WDW sits) ... then something may happen. But I still don't see it at MK because people will visit the stalest MK of them all regardless and TDO and Burbank both know this. In terms of building something major elsewhere in the MK? See above. ~WDW Pixie Dust: Use by 11/30/99~

And I'm quite certain WWoHP will continue to be a hit that will hopefully push WDW to some sort of reaction.

And TDO and better don't belong on the same sentence. ;-)

See, I find that kind of attitude to be really strange. Why can't you enjoy BOTH places? By limiting yourself to stale pixie dust, recycled "magic" and boring marketing synergy you are missing out on one of the best theme parks in the US(IOA). Sorry but I DO NOT understand Disney apologists. I saved fifteen grand over an extended period of time and flew from the other side of the planet and visited DURING 9/11 to see all these incredible places and you lot have them in YOUR BACKYARD and you don't seem to appreciate them. Maybe that's half the problem - you are all so spoiled and have SO MUCH choice you don't realize how good you have it. I used to think I was disadvantaged being so far away but at least when I visit the US and the parks, it feels like a very special experience!

And as far as dining and entertainment, CityWalk is far superior to Downtown Disney now that Pleasure Island is all boarded up. Though, DtD still wins in the shopping category. URO is a quality experience, but it is not Disney, and is not trying to be. Offering Disney Quality, is not the same thing as trying to copy Disney.
