Also, just having these characters in there own settings will be nice. I like the idea of the Dumbo area, but with the heavy use, I think it will become a disappointment if it's not refurbished more regularly than attractions are now (like TSMM handles are already falling apart due to heavy use).

I am looking forward to eveything, and I would like a nice C or D ticket, but you take what you get. The Little Mermaid and Gaston's Tavern/Be Our Guest stuff is so exciting. If you dont see how big this is, then you must be needing glasses

As the plans stand, they are using a ton of centrally located (ie difficult to reuse as something else later) space for things that come down to much ado about nothing. That makes it very difficult to do anything if they decide in another 30 to expand Fantasyland. They are using all the space that the park really has for this stuff, and filling it with junk. I would rather they scale back the plans to just the quality stuff that will still be operating and wortwhile in 10 years, and leave everything else on the drawing boards.

There is actually still quite a bit of room left, even with the new expansion, between the north and northwest portions of Fantasyland and the WDWRR tracks. There has always been a lot of room back there, even when 20K Leagues was taking up a plot. This redo essentially covers the old 20K footprint, Tooontown Fair, and a little bit of new expansion in the norther part of FL. It's not significantly different than the old FL with 20K, though.

Again, that's not me, but there are people out there who want that sort of thing.

This is Disney's response to Harry Potter as counter-programming. Like releasing Honey I Shrunk the Kids on the same day Batman opened in '89. Batman cleaned up, but Honey made big bucks too for all the families who felt that Batman was too much for their little ones.

Disney's essentially saying, "Little girls, you want to come here." And that's a really smart move.

and what about the boys??? and older kids who don't like princesses. they might as well put a sign out front that says if you are a boy of any age or a girl 13 years or older don't bother with htis land.

Does anybody here get that warm, and cozy feeling when you walk down Main Street USA? Now do you get it because you are excited to death because you are going to ride a MS vehicle (that is if they're out)?

That's what this make-over is designed to do for Fantasyland. It's going to make the vast majority of folks very happy. That is, as long as it is done right.

I think this is a fantastic move, and while it is not my personal cup of tea, it is one that I think is smart. Part of my dislike of the MK is the lack of detail that DL/DLP has, and it is no more apparant than Fantasyland. This now finally redresses that issue and is a huge step forward for the park and the resort.

Although I would love something more masculine, this makes a lot of sense. I look forward to seeing the finished product.

I think this is also why so many meet and greets are in the redo.

MPierce you are absolutely right. It is the fantasy immersion that we love. This redo looks like a sort of retheming. I think it will greatly increase the illusion of being in a fantasy world. This is much better than just changing out a ride.

And a 100 million dollar Little Mermaid Ride, and a sit down AA show B&B restaurant, and double the Dumbo for little kids who love it...
