I held off going for the train because the online photo looked just as you described - very "plastic" looking. Too bad. The rumor was that they were considering doing the Casey train cars if the engine sold well but if people aren't impressed with the engine, I suppose that won't be happening. I am wondering what the quality is like on the Small World clock. I saw the prototype at the NFFC show back in July and was impressed, but Disney seems to have a lot of problems with quality control so not sure how the final products are turning out. I was a little shocked at the $299 price too.

I read about one guy who had to order 5 Haunted Mansion lamps before he got one that was undamaged. Good luck on the Small World clock...
