And to the OP: no, you don't have to use a Fastpass to use the wonderful WDW restrooms. But you can sit on the toilet and pin-trade with the CMs who are stationed in each stall. Talk about a magical moment!

Yes, the dreaded traffic construction merge - it does for I-95 exactly what fastpass does for some of my most beloved rides at WDW - creates sheer gridlock. By allowing the fastpass lane to board unrestrictedly (i.e. with minimal to no wait), the wait times for the normal queue are stretched to an intolerable length. It's simply abysmal. The number of these tickets dispensed for any particular period is too high, and guests insist on using them to return whenever they darn well feel like it. And don't think for a second that someone hasn't already had the "bright idea" of allowing people to BUY sets of fastpasses, for example, or to have a set of them provided as a perk for those who stay at a Disney property. I think it hasn't come into existence yet because there's not enough capacity (or time in a day) to give everyone a ride with zero waiting. Extra Magic Hours are a much better solution for giving resort guests an extra perk. In fact, EMH is a wonderful idea if it helps to restrain the fastpass system from ruining any more magic.

I am completely convinced based on the length of the Q that the actual Indy ride is in Mexico. I didn't think I would ever get to the end and the first time I did, just before boarding they evacuated the ride and we all had to go back the length of the Q and basically start over when whatever happened, cleared. >>>FastPass is, without a doubt, one of the worst ideas ever implemented. I have been preaching that for years now and obviously we are not able to get that information through to the people that make decisions for Disney. I don't know what the percentage of FP users actually make up the riders for any given ride, but from my observations my guess would be not much more than 30%. That's 30% of gloriously smug and hyper customers in comparison to 70% unhappy and frustrated customers. I don't know what school of Economics these "leaders" went to but they were not good at math. Any text book will tell you that 100% of mildly, but equal, frustrated customers is better than 70% of unhappy, angry customers. Do the math, Disney!
