This was bugging me and had to research it.. So I just got off the phone talking with my personal friend from the other Disney site, since I find her to be most trustworthy... Anyways..she says she got to Soarin on Dec 31st shortly after 10am and got a FP for a return time at 9-something PM. She was able to get another FP for Living with the Land sometime after 1pm but it was for a very late time in the evening, which she didn't use at all because the time-window was not conveninent and would force to choose from getting a good spot for the midnight pyro or ride The Land. Later that afternoon, at the time she was able to get yet another FP... there were NONE available anymore
in the rides she wanted to see, TT or MS... so she gave it up. That's from the horse's mouth! and I am glad I learned something I didn't know before. After I got my FP for 'Soarin' at 9ish am... I really didn't pursue getting any other ones because I was with my parenta who are not able to walk fast all day long and as every one knows here... in roder to take advantage of FP, you *do* have to run like a chicken with no head all over the park to get your turn in line. It can be quite tiresome, and can't simply be done when you have parents in their 70s who are too proud and won't rent a chair to get around like most 40-60 somethings are doing at WDW because they can't carry their weight around.

    "That's silly!"

Agreed with TDLFAN. Especially in light of the fact that The Land is a pavilion in Future World @ Epcot.

absolutely -- I just didn't want my words saying something I didn't -- and you have gone back and read what I typed ( thank you for taking the time to do that) - and have explained in detail above.

I have no quarrel with you as a person or as someone with an opinion, it was as I suspected in your zeal to get a point across the message got garbled somewhat. I just wanted my position clear and I feel it now is...so yes I certainly can let it go.

I appreciate your concern over FP driving people from returning, I guess I just feel there are some maybe that this couldhappen to, but I also think there are some who feel FP is a nice Disney bonus... it just depends on each families set of circumstances on how and why and how often they visit.

As for the posts removed by ADMIN -- be glad you didn't read them, I did and can tell you this topic would have spun further out of control.

sorry if you felt attacked as I know you are not one of the drive-by trolls that we have seen lately...that was not my intent, I was just upset that what I wrote wasn't what was being read correctly....it happens

Why, humans had no smiley's in the past and communication was just fine. If one's intent can't be inferred from logic and common sense than we're in trouble. That being said, I think your statment needs some smileys or a winking ornery face or something cause it's not quite clear.

I'd have to ask if she just happened to try around 1pm, or if the system locked her out. As I recall it's stamped right on the FP ticket when you can get another one, and as far as I know it's always 2 hours after you got the FP.

I remember standing in front of Pooh when this guy walks up and gets 4 FPs yet there were at the most ten people in line. The stanby line had a posted wait time of 5 minutes, which would only occur if you waited four minutes and then got in line. It was strange because the guy never even stopped to look at how long the line was. He was in FP mode and that's all that mattered.

My girlfriend is a CM at WDW (in resorts), and she knows the FP system quite well, so I am sure she didn't try to get a FP before the 2hr blackout period. Plus, she did confirm to me that you have a max 2 hr window after a fastpass.. I will have to see if that is also the case at TDR...

Ahhh... yes yes yes people we are getting smarter, muuuuuch smarter! "

Come ON people, give it up. We have all seen so much craziness when it comes to getting on a ride... there's no solution and never will be.

...and for the record I never cheat at the que. I have kids who watch me every second and will someday do what I did.

FP does make smart people smarter, and those (like me) who can see both sides of the coin and firly believe the cons outweight the pros... are made more vulnerable.
