Early in the day was less busy, and we could do as much as we chose. We'd stay through lunch. That's when the rest of the world would show up and things got really busy. So we would always leave the park then, go back to the hotel, and go to the pool/nap for the afternoon. (Hottest time, too) We got away with this because we told the kids by doing this we would be able to go back for the evening, maybe even stay until closing. Worked too. The evenings were less busy than the afternoons. And by getting naps everyone was much less cranky.

Originally Posted By ssWEDguy I lied. Here's one more FastPass flaw. They don't seem to make sure that the FastPasses are used when they are supposed to be used. If your FastPass says "Return between 3:20 and 4:20" that's when you should return. If you show up at 5:30, you should not be allowed in. The ticket has technically expired. But I've never seen anyone denied access when the ticket was late. I've only seen people denied access when they came back early. Thank goodness for that. So I can arrive at the park early, ride the ride several times, but then still get a FastPass for later. Then I can come back ANYTIME later in the day past my "reservation time" and still get on. A freebie anytime later in the day. Whenever I felt like it. So why wouldn't I take advantage of the system and go ahead and do that?

And the way you outlined your day in post # 61 is exactly the way I spend every WDW day. Did you learn this from me???

Why not offer FastPass as an extra-cost option on your "Magic Your Way" ticket at the front gate? They charge you extra if you want Park Hopper, right? It's an extra cost option if you want your usused passes to not expire, right? Then why not an extra charge if you want to use FastPass? And no such charge if you don't. That way if you're being bypassed in a 90-minute queue you can at LEAST think "That person had to pay more."

Everyone gets 2 free FastPasses to use for each day of their visit. They can use them or not. But the max is 2. If you want "unlimited" FastPasses on any given day (Only one at a time if course, like you are limited to now) you pay for an "Magic Your Way" option.

Ive been fortunate enough to need and AP in the past but most of the time I get to WDW but one week a year. I try to go off season and have been really lucky with the crowds, but have also been really unlucky some trips. Where i would have missed some of my favorites or only been able to them once without FP. Ive been to WDW Before FP and After I'll take after. My plan this year for Everest is to get there for opening get a FP and get in the stand by line. I have one day for AK and doubt i would have the opertunity to ride it twice without the FP. As far as the queue putting me in the mood...I was in the mood as soon as I hung up the phone with my travel agent.

Yeah, it was mostly pictures, but it was themed by topic, and there was a lot of text to go with it. The queue at Epcot is much simpler. 3 or 4 HUGE (but pretty) pictures. And a lot of conservation themed questions and answers for the line. Not very rich at all. I'm not as happy with the queue at Epcot.
