Candy canes, which I was buying before they were crazy popular (that was like 14 years ago--yikes!).

    Dole whips, of course.

    Mint juleps, of course.

I LOVE popcorn, but it so expensive. I pop pocorn in a saucepan on the stove all the time, so I'm used to spending like $.20 for a huge bowl. Sigh.

But my favorite old treat was a Big Thunder Sundae, substituting a second Rocky Road for the coffee ice cream, with extra fudge and extra toasted almonds. Whoa, that was one amazingly good sundae.

first, walk down Main St. in the early morning with a delicious and traditional warm fresh baked chocolate chip cookie in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other while the morning sounds and smells float lightly beside you and the quite of Main St. still exists

then, when the sun is at full heat-radiating-power (around 1-2 in the afternoon), grab a cool and refreshing Dole-Whip FLOAT and enjoy the calming and exotic sounds of Adventure Land as you wait in line for Indiana Jones.

Next, you'll probably want something to drink within the next hour and by that time you should be wandering around NOS. So, naturally you would want to stop by the French Market Cafe and grab a deliciously-thirst-quenching Mint Julep and sip it delicately while in line for the HM

and then, when the sun sets against the glistening castle on that warm summer's night, and you and your family are ready for a spectacular and truly moving fireworks display, nothing could be more appropriate than a genuine Mickey Premium bar.

and thats the perfect snack day summed up!

I first tried getting it at the Candy Palace just before closing time, thinking it would be my late night snack and I'd eat it on the way back to the hotel. The cm said they had sold out of them. "Like, HOURS ago" she said with a little eye roll like I should have known this would be the case. (To be fair, this was the only iffy cm I encountered on the whole trip). So if you want to get yours at the Candy Palace I'd recommend not waiting till the end of the day.

I got mine the next day at Marcelline's and boy was it yummy.

Of course, I didn't even know they had a dark chocolate (!!) apple. I love, love LOVE dark chocolate. This now gives me something else to look forward to on my next visit.

Back in the day, my favorite was the chocolate banana. They used to be big, fresh, and oh so good. But that was 30 years ago - now they're smaller and the nuts are usually stale. Different supplier I assume, but man the old ones were good. Combine one with the late, lamented Space Mist Punch from TL (basically a lemonade/fruit punch combo that they kept super-cold so it would always "mist" when they handed it to you), and that's a perfect summer evening right there.

Nothing like a Dole Whip when waiting for the Tiki Room to open, too.
