Now, this works to Fed Ex's advantage because then ANY package that is not delivered, lost, stolen, etc MUST be paid for by the driver. So if the driver left a package without getting a signature, then the package went "missing" the cost of the items comes right out of the drivers paycheck (Fedex does not investigate. It is up to the drivers to investigate claims). Also, drivers get paid per package, not per trip. So if it takes a driver 5 trips to make a delivery, he is still getting paid once for the one package. That is why divers sometimes gamble & leave the package without getting a signature.
