if you mean the predictability of garbage like this:

"The traitor, george bush, broke the law, the known traitor,"

    "Republicans are such ignorant liars.
    "

then the answer is yes, very predictable

I thought it seemed pretty clear the YourPalEd's posts were primarily for entertainment value and not a serious reflection of his position. If that is not the case, he is every bit as extreme as our favorite Gallic hater with the Gallic sounding screen name.

thank you Mele, while it is perfectly acceptable to have different views ... the ability to discuss them like intelligent adults is necessary if we are ever going to fix the rift in this country....

any politician that wants to know why politics are as bad as they are need look no further than the microcosm that is W/E and the far side rants...

While they are *quite entertaining*, I've decided to have even more fun by squeezing lemon juice on my hangnail.

I've noticed Beau is often ignored by the conservatives on this site, while people like me stand in awe of the garbage that he spews.

Perhaps we could all do a better job of trying to reign in those who make our perspectives look bad.

    :)

I find them so off-the-wall they are funny. Kind of like how I thought Beau's posts were funny until I found out the guy was deadly serious. If I find that YourPalEd is serious he will stop being funny also.

I've always assumed they were an honest reflection of his opinion. After all, they aren't that far off from (for example) cmpaley's. (Not a criticism of cmpaley!)

But cmpaley puts together rational arguments and relevant information to defend his postion. His posts sound very sober and well thought out, even if I don't agree with him a lot.

While I think Bush and Cheney definitely took the easy way out when people like Kerry or Gray Davis didn't, I don't know that the coward label is appropriate.

George H. W. Bush and Bob Dole certainly don't fit the coward bill. There's a long list of those who have served with distinction in our country on both sides of the political aisle. And there's plenty on both sides who did what they could to avoid service.

I disagree. cmpaley's views are not off the wall when you realize you are getting the viewpoint of an extremely committed Catholic.

Ed's views are off the wall no matter WHAT he might be. Unless he's from Mars. Then they would probably be normal.

    :)

No, actually it sounds like we agree. :)

I said cmpaley's _posts_ are somewhat similar in tone, at times. Well, at least that's what I meant.

But cmpaley actually takes time to add information to his posts that back up his opinions.

Yeah, I thought also that he was, if anything, satirizing Beau from the other side, kind of like what Kar2oonman has been doing lately on other threads. Of course, K2M has been around long enough that we knew that that's what he was doing; Ed's posts were so out there I thought they had to be of the same ilk; if he's serious, he really is just the flip side of Beau.
