But when you compare it to Tarzan or the godawful Beauty and the Beast, it's the closest think to real live entertainment you'll find at WDW. This isn't Tokyo, you know!

The memories!! *snif*snif* I used to love and watch "DW is ur W" so so much, I knew the choreography by heart. I also miss the old grand spectacles that used to be presented on the castle forecourst stage, such as the "Sparkling Christmas Spectacular" (we are getting nu'thing for Xmas!!), and the "4th of July Spectacular" with it's stirring Statue of Liberty finale and huge balloon releases... Also miss the original New year's ever "Cinderellabration" that graced the MK' forecourt during the first decade or so after the MK opened.. *THOSE* were true Disney spectacles. You want that now-a-days..you have to go to TDR. The last live shows that were at least decent were the Pocahontas and Hunchback shows at the studios.

ORWEN: I still enjoy it--although the seating is a little uncomfortable--like somebody else already said. ORGOCH: I got the hots fer the fire eater, my own dang self. Er...at least I got the hots fer the fire, itself. Great fer roastin' yer frog legs whilst watchin' the rest a the show!

I do not go to the theatre that often as most productions average $115 - $125 for good seats face value at night. Matinees can be had for around $80. I did see Wicked as I went with a Northwestern Alumni group in a package deal with dinner -- I was $120 but included dinner -- for mezzanine seats

This is a wonderful show that is nearly broadway/west end quality. The DAK show was a real disappointment to us. then that could be said about most WDW shows. We find the Californian and Paris offerings to be far superior.

Originally Posted By vbdad55 <I can too - for shows on Broadway. Could out of town be more expensive than Broadway?< In many cases I believe the answer is yes. I too have attended shows on Broadway and gotten seats at decent prices ( when it is not opening week , etc.) -- as I used to travel to NY a lot. However for the top quality shows the deal goes like this here in Chicago. We get many of the Broaddway openings before Broadway now -- i.e. Spamalot -- but we get them for like 4 week runs and I guess they feel they can charge what they want...and do. Then after it goes to Broadway, many times we do not see it again , like forever. By the time it does get here, no one cares any more. One exception was Joseph ( with Donny Osmond ) that played here at the Chicago theatre for like 3 years -- yet even with that I padi $80 over 10 years ago for mid level floor seats. Go figure. We didn;t get Lion King for at least 5 years -- everyone got it before us -- I am not sure why they ignore 8 - 9 M people in the metro area, maybe it is the image of 'da Bears 'da Sox etc -- for a few yahoos, not for most.
