It was really scary as on top of everything else we had an asthmatic child in the van with us. Just remember to evacuate when the authorities tell you to and don't go back until you are told it is safe to go back in. We packed the car with irreplacable things-photo albums, legal documents and all the insurance papers. We keep all these things in one place so we can grab them all at once...just in case.

And I would be devastated to lose my pictures. Many could be gotten from others and copied but so many would be forever gone. But most important...get yourself, your family and your pets out asap! Will be thinking of you all tonight and praying for your safety and that your homes will be spared.

I feel pretty confident my house will be fine. I feel so bad for those who lost their houses though. They are all in my thoughts and prayers. Luckily, Corona winds are only at 3-5 mph right now, but are expected to pick up with in an hour. The 91 opened again, however westbound (towards Anaheim) closed almost right away. Now both directions are closed once again. I hope everyone in this area is staying safe. As others have said: listen to what the law enforcement tells you to do and don't think about it. Get out if needed. You don't need all your possessions, just your family and pets. Photos are pretty easy to grab as well. I think I will try to get to sleep, hopefully no other damage will happen tonight.
