Your park is SUFFERING, bring in some real attractions because no one CARES about these!! BTW Mr. X, with all this posting tonight, I guess you haven't had time to read anything lately, have you .

The flooded show buildings are like Pirates of the Caribbean where it's more like you're floating on a river or the ocean...water stretches all the way to the edges of the sets. There is a track, but it's invisible under the water...you can't smash your fingers between the walls of the flume and the boat like you can at Disneyland (Ouch, by the way!). The versions of It's a Small World at all the other Magic Kingdoms have water all the way up the the sets, so you can see reflections in the water instead of speakers, wires, etc. Also, it means that the sets are further away from the boats, so the attractions seem less intimate and maybe a bit bigger...just because of the distance from the boats. At Disneyland, the sets are so close, that sometimes it feels like you can reach over and touch them, but the other versions don't have that since things are way more than an arm's length away.

It's no mistake some people (like Leemac) do not care for it, but the parisian IASW offer some new technical aspects for the ride, great doll costuming, nice lighting and some exclusive scene not found at any other IASW ride. I like DLP's show the best over all others. As for flooded versus non flooded building... If I understood you correctly... the difference is the non-flooded building (at DL) means a water canal similar to mosy flume rides have. The vehicles travel on a canal... and the flooded building is where the entire floor is a pool where the boats travel...

As always... the MK never bothers to do little overlays like this (at the highest 1-day ticket price mind you)
Originally Posted By gurgitoy2 "^^ I did not know that- how similar is it to DLs?" Well, I've not actually been on the TDL version, but from the online pictures and videos, it seems very similar to the DL version. It's like this, it would be like taking the Disneyland overlay and putting it on the WDW version (which is what TDL's is inside). The facade gets the DL christmas light feature though. The soundtrack is the same. I've never seen the DLP version, but have been told it's limited to several rooms, and is a bit more understated than the other versions. I don't know for sure though. I have to say that I LOVE the holiday makeover at Disneyland though, it makes the ride fresh.
Originally Posted By WorldDisney <<but skipping the DLP version was a huge mistake.>> No it wasn't . Honestly, I just don't care for the ride. I ride when I'm in L.A. with my mother because, ironically, THAT'S her favorite ride. I ridden the other versions just to say I done it or it's a short line and something to pass the time along. But other than that, could care less. It's kind of like telling someone who never liked or interested Star Wars they are missing out if they haven't seen Empire Strikes Back. But, maybe I'll get on it and try it next time I'm in Paris since you highly recommend it. Just not sure when that will ever be again. Also thank you and gurigory2 to explain the whole flooded vs nonflooded thing . Now I see why people always compare which version is 'better'.

I admit, I don't like IASW generally, but yeah fell in love with the Christmas version when I went on it last year. Now, THAT was cool . I did the Xmas one at TDL also, but thought it felt flat. I actually did it with Superdry when I first met him and we both agreed it was just okay. But DL's is very good!

That list (assuming you did it all) is really a 5 day plan assuming you take your time to explore the islands, but you take away the islands, that is about 3-4 days worth of stuff assuming you don't rush it through. My point is Hong Kong can easily take just a few days to see it, but like anything, you take your time, it can so much longer and you can really appreciate it. Just don't rush through the city and squeeze it all in just for the sake of the park. If anything, do the opposite .

I've only been on Disneyland's version, but Tokyo Disneyland's looks almost the same to me.

It could be that it's because TDL's is more like WDW, where the sets are further away, and there's that big indoor loading area. Maybe it felt less "intimate" to them? I don't know, but from what I've seen I thought they had the same set decoration and effects too.

Definitely sounds like a great amount of time to really see and do everything on WorldDisney's list and then some. Also, you certainly can afford to spend a half or even whole day in Macau hitting the tables if you wish (I'd recommend it just for that neat speedboat ride...if you don't mind spending a little extra it's well worth it!). Have a great time!
