I'm listening to a radio morning show down here in San Diego discussing "A very popular Southern California amusement park" that was able to secure H1N1 vaccine for all of the employees that wanted it. Apparently there is some pediatrician that is outraged by this.

Frankly, I'm all for it since employees at this "very popular Southern California amusement park", who I suspect are commonly known as Cast Members, are exposed to thousands of visitors from around the world on a daily basis, and many of those visitors are not going to let mild symptoms keep them from enjoying what could be an expensive vacation.

If this is true, then I would like to say "Good Job" to the management of this "very popular Southern California amusement park."

All I know is there was winter I got the flu, a stomach virus, and a sinus infection in the span of a month and a half. I was miserable that year. I've gotten the flu shot every year since and even though I still may get sick, I've never been that bad. Maybe it's me being paranoid but I don't want to spend Christmas night throwing up again! LOL.

Not everyone has to agree with me about their personal choice to get the vaccine or not, but I'm glad that the cast members were given the opportunity to receive the vaccine as I think they would be in a high risk of coming in contact with the virus.

I wouldn't touch either one, but that is a personal choice since both of my kids are vaccine injured, and I know dozens of families just like mine. We are the "coincidence" families because we are told it was just a coincidence our children were brain injured right after they went in for their shots. I can't take any more chances on any more coincidences.

The saddest part was about 3 weeks later went we went up North to see our newborn niece (she was born on December 27th, while I was still puking. lol) and I was over the flu but coming down with a horrible sinus infection and I was trying to enjoy family time with a new baby while my nose ran down my face. One flu shot for me, please! Haha.

They said the most likely cause was due to the high fever I was running when I was pregnant as the teeth start to develop then. Fortunately, his permanent teeth have been developing fine.

Needless to say, I'm in the pro-flu shot camp.

Often time a product is marketed by selling how bad an illness is. But just because getting the flu sucks doesn't make the shot work, or make it safe for everyone.

My son got encephalitis from his baby vaccine, which was for hepatitis B. He is 11 years old now and still cannot talk. It wasn't untill after that that I found out:

    a) he had no risk factors for hepatitis B since is is transmitted via body fluids

    and

    b) the shot is only effective for about 5 years. (pediatricians justify giving this shot to babies so they will be protected when they become of dating age.)

Not worth the risk at all. He is no longer immune from hep B, but the injury remains.

Just want to give the flip side to some of the aggressive marketing that is going on regarding flu vaccines in the media. There are lots of us that have had our lives completely devasated by vaccines.

These products DO have risks. They are downplayed, but we really do exist. We even can be seen at Disneyland. We are the ones running away from the parades because of the noise is too much for someone with a disregulated central nervous system.

It sounds like his horrible reactions were to a Heb B vaccine. Did he has similar reactions to a flu shot, too?

Not being argumentative, I think I'm just confused since we were talking about flu shots...

So thank you for mentioning the other side from experience. All I suggest is that people get informed before deciding that the adds on TV are accurate. Or that doctors are always right. Those commercials are written by the same folks who convince us that Clorox gets our clothes whiter than that other bleach.
I am sorry you were sick RMM. I have had bad flu bouts myself over the years. But now you guys are truly immune.

Hope you are well. I know that sometimes my daughter just wants to pull her hair out, or curl up in a corner and cry.
