Nothing like being 36 years old and having to call in sick to your boss and explain you have Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease.

I've had it all! Now I'm all about Purell, Lysol, Lysol Wipes, Bleach and handwashing.

    I've done my time. ;-)

It could be money, souvenirs or the miles of hand rails that kids hang and slide on.

I try to keep my hands to myself (in my pockets), as much as possible, while in public.<<

And, it's so easy to have a snack or meal without washing hands first at a theme park. I always carry hand sanitizer or antibacterial wipes with me to the Parks. Keeping one's hands away from your eyes, nose and mouth also helps to reduce chance of getting a bug.

I ride public transit to my job in downtown Los Angeles and likewise, you have to be careful because you touch railings and other things that infected people may have touched.

Also, a lot of germs live through the sanitation process. Best thing to use is soap and hot water, the sanitizing stuff doesn't really do much for you.

I dont think the Neosporin under the nose is effective at all. it is a topical antibiotic and cannot kill airborne germs. I guess it might work if your finger accidentally ends up in your nose though!

Go to your local Pharmacy and purchase a small box of paper face masks that help protect you from airborne viruses.

Even if you do not use the small straps so that you do not look like a doctor or someone that is sick i would keep it in a sweater pocket or somewhere close and then just place it over you nose and mouth when you plan on standing next to large corwds to watch parades or fireworks or even indoor queues.

It might feel a bit wierd at first but its much better than getting sick and ruining your trips. The masks are inexpensive. believe me when i say that for one person that might look at you wierd there are others that would see you as being smart and concious of your surroundings.

It wouldn't be bad to even consider using it on an airplane if you notice anyone in the near vacinity with anykind of flue symptom

i read about it once have told some people it it seamed to help.

in a small cup add some warm water with three tables spoons of apple cider vinegar and take it three times a day.

It will drastically reduce the amount of days the flu sticks around.
Drink plenty of liquids to help flush your system

You'll find lots and lots of info on flu prevention here on the CDC website -

Can't resist a reminder: If you use your hands to turn off the faucet then you have defeated the purpose of hand washing. Use a towel to turn off water and open the door. End of public service announement.
