Thanks for the post leobloom. I'm a west coaster (San Francisco area, originally from down the road from DL). We've traveled all over, too, and don't concentrate on Disney vacations by any means. Last time I was at WDW was 5 years ago for the paintball World Cup - didn't go to any parks.

I agree single day tickets are over-priced. We've got several amusement/theme parks nearby and they are having all kinds of specials to get the people in this summer. Normal ticket prices there are about $50/day. But, of course, they are no where near Disney quality and are not vacation destinations. Since I let my DLR AP expire, I went from multiple trips a year to maybe once every year to year and a half. I hate paying those high ticket prices.

Six Flags no longer allows you to bring anything other than your person on rides. No purses, no backpacks, no sunglasses, no hats. You have to rent a locker at $1 each time you want to ride. Separate lockers at each ride and they clean them out continuously, so no leaving your stuff in one place while you hit everything in an area. Now, that's what I call nickle and diming!

I just took my total package price, deducted the current airfare for the same flights (still have 21 days advance purchase and web only specials), deducted 8 nights at the All Stars at the promo. rate of $69/night, and was left with $500.

That $500 means I'm paying $250 each for 7 day parkhoppers and 8 days of dining plan.

My airfare to Florida wouldn't change whether I was going to Disney or not. My hotel would probably be more - probably a nicer property, too, but I'm fine with the All Stars. But NO WAY could I purchase food and all day entertainment for 2 for that length of time and only spend $500.

I don't understand all the disney bashing ....they are a company that wants to make money.

I was just at a few wineries, one charged us $18.00 for thew tasting as well as the bottles of wine we bought, the other winery deducted the tasting charges when we bought two bottles.

The horse shows I go to charge $6.00 for a burger, $3.00 for fries, $2.00 for a can of coke (no free refills). Disney burgers seem a bargin :D

Did they charge you $79 to come in, and have a wine tasting?

Do you spend a week at a horse show?

    Sometimes :)

Depending on the show circuit....often when travelling thousands of miles it isn't very cost effective to show for one weekend. Most of the larger shows are in fact a week long.

LOL, really????? $79 gets you so much more at WDW then a chance to pay for a wine tasting.

If Disney ran business the way you and Spirit and others want it to run, they would be broke in 2 years and out of business in 5....

Please don't leave before you give me that post number where I bashed someone. After all, when I have said something wrong or hurtful I want to make amends with an apology to anyone I've wronged.
