The Siemens deal really is the high watermark right now. They are really getting into the deal and helping WDI on a lot of different fronts. I have never seen partners work so closely with the parks before. The HP deal is not even close.

So let me understand this correctly.

The Figment sculpt event has been placed on hold because of the Imagination rehab, directly or indirectly?

And that green light is waiting for Kodak to renew their agreement?

Can anyone give me a rough estimate of when this might get ironed out?

The two are not intrinsically linked. The event has nothing to do with any JII rehab. I believe it is simply a matter of scheduling.

Methinks this puppy will soon get pushed out several weeks, or perhaps postponed to a much later date, possibly next year.

As much as I'd hate to see the latter happen, it would not surprise me one bit. This is WDSE we're talking about here.

They could easily squirrel away the sculpts and hold them until a new & improved Imagination pavilion is ready to open for the 25th. Then WDSE could charge double for the event, and spread it out over an entire day, not just a few hours. Offer exclusive after hours ride time/play time in the new pavilion, as well as a dinner banquet with Steve Kirk and Tony Baxter discussing the history and origins of Dreamfinder and Figment.

Hey... I really like this idea. Kinda hope they steal it!

I think this may have been the case of WDSE jumping at a chance to make $$$, while not having a clue what was actually transpiring with WDI, park ops and Kodak.

But, as idleHands will tell you, I get easily confused these days!

Heaven forbid if the left hand knew what the right hand was doing.

I'd be surprised if it was tugged for that reason. I'm betting it is because it was during the pin celebration and they want to move it to a different date.

I think this is a great example of groups not working together or caring. My cynical side says the WDCC people (is Enesco still involved with WDCC?) decided on a date, didn't check to see what else WDW events was doing, and Epcot said, "Look how great we are, we have 2 events on the same day!"

Unbelievable that this group still screws up to this degree, after that event. Long-term memory is obviously not a priority in their formula for success.

Are they the same actual individuals who were doing this event? Because I remember the Pirate event and 'fiasco' is putting it lightly.

The funny (or typical with Disney) thing is that last year they were still putting up some of that merchandise on their auction site after all these years.

But I honestly don't see myself ever attending one of these events again.

It wasn't WDSE. The WDW group didn't take over until later. It was all run by Disneyland Merchandise. The list of screwed-up Disneyland events is as long as WDW ones.

ENESCO would have no responsibility for this event. They would simply have received the order from WDW Merch and been fulfilling it. The only thing they could have screwed up is not meeting the delivery date for the pieces.

    It is all WDSE.
