I find it so funny that the other studios can say damn and hell and piss and all those other words....and no one cares. I mean COME ON YA'LL.... G or PG my kids see 'em all and so do yours. If a PG rating would have kept you away from this film then I'm glad they rated it G and got YOUR money before you found out! ROFL !!!

What the HECK were Docter and Team Pixar thinking on that one? I saw a couple of little kids near me in the theatre begin to cry, when that scene began. They identified with Boo too much, as little kids are likely to do when watching their peers in movies. Not good.>>

What's wrong with that? Come on, let's all stop thinking our kids are all dumb, there is nothing wrong with kids to be affraid in a movie or laugh, or cry, that's emotions and that's why cinema stands for: give emotions through characters. Pixar is one of the stufdios that does it best without taking our kids for dumb marketing target (remember what elastigirl told her kids in the Incredibles about the Saturday Morning cartoon's villains? Maen to that!)

If that was the case, then what about Rescuers down Under.. granted made much later in Disney film history, Black Cauldron (shudder) and I'm sure a few other animated films to say the least, not to mention many a live action Disney film.. Witch Mountain, Apple & Dumpling Gang.. etc.. Pete's Dragon.. live/animated and all have scary kid circumstances.. One thing I definitiely agree to disagree with on with IdleHands.. It's just a personal perference thing.. Some people don't like swearing, some tolerate it, some do to only certain extent.

I don't know who rated the film, but "hillbilly heck" definitely didn't register on my radar at all. Could be that I don't have kids, or maybe that I thought it was a place and not an expletive. To each their own. =)

As has been pointed out, Maleficent declared, in 1959, "Now you shall deal with me, and all the powers of Hell." So Walt wasn't squeamish about that.

SeanYoda & I went to see the film for the 2nd time (tonight at El Cap).. wow was there even MORE fussing in the film.. I think 7pm is a bit late to be bringing your kids to a film that on top of all the trailers and the short and the intro you have to stand in line in the back (and be amused by really cool dudes on stilts) but endure the PIT STOP CHALLENGE. Kids didn't stand a chance. They were screaming and fussing before the film got to the 'cow tipping' scene.. yikes.

At least they didn't get to enjoy the 2yr old that kicked me in the back through the entire movie.. it's annoying and you can only turn around so many times (what's a 2yr old going to do?) I'll be looking forward to this fall seeing it on the home theatre.

I focused on trying to see the in jokes that I missed the first time.. and the end credits. We were up in the balcony and honestly I think the families had a lot more to deal with than what sort of non-swearing was going on.. I really don't think that Lightning meant it to be swearing.. and Sally (who is the 2nd one to use it) was throwing his own words back at him..

Film was good but JT still made me cry (grrrr) and even I was fidgeting in my seat because with the pre-show and the pit stop thing.. 3.5hrs is just a long time to be out and about with a theatre full of cranky tired kids, none of which were mine... but I got to enjoy them just the same.. (including the cranky kid that punched his mom in the gut because she & her husband didn't want him fighting the other boys for the plushy basketballs they were tossing at the guy on stilts).
