It almost sounds as though the little boy lost contol of his bike and couldn't help colliding with the bus. He was out of the bus driver's view and unfortunately got run over. They pack those things with people, and then drive all over the place, at pretty fast speeds. Plus, there was heavy traffic everywhere - Disney's roadways are packed. It's such a mess, and should never have been allowed to reach this point. Disney should have built-out the resort with an actual plan that included mass transist systems, like the monorail. Instead, they took the cheapest route and went with buses. Now they have traffic problems and urban sprawl - what a magical world...

And again, kids do sometimes do dumb things, often with tragic consequences. BUT ... again, anyone familiar with WDW transport knows there are issues with the driving skills of numerous drivers. That gets pinned on TDO all the way regardless of what happened here. I didn't see any skid marks on the road, which may/may not mean anything. One thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was the FHP holding its press conference in the median of what appeared to be the entrance near the Marriott World Center. As opposed to SW, which when it had the recent tragedy with the whale trainer. The child died on Disney property and it's a tragedy, period. Keeping media and officials off-site looks like you're trying to hide something and not taking ownership for the incident. No matter what, though. One family ... well, actually more ... the driver's family ... and any families on that bus have had their lives changed in a horrific way. Just very, very sad.
