I'll keep going for the more intense version because I'm an intense kind of spirit.

I got sick once after riding the Hulk at IOA. I didn't have to go to the hospital as a result.

No matter what Disney says, there is no doubt in my mind that the "tamed down" version was a reaction to either a lawyer or insurance company recommendation based on the history of the ride.

barboy...if two more people die or become seriously ill from riding, will that be enough to warrant concern? How about 4 more? 10 more?

I worked in the amusement industry for over 10 years and I have defended it time and time again. But, I fear there is something going on here that isn't fully understood.

This means absolutely nothing or just as noteworthy as the following:

I did have 2 highschool classmates die during my senior year; one in Nov. and another in May. And there were 300 students in the graduating class.

How can answer that? If even 1 illnesses or deaths was directly attributed to the ride or the CM's who operate the attraction then yes. If 10 died after riding because of preexisting health conditions then, "no"

Millions of people cross railroad tracks every year. But, the crossing gates go up on a track after someone has died...no matter how many millions succesfully got across prior to the death.

And again, barboy, the number of significantly ill people, many of whom had to seek medical attention, is FAR above the 2 deaths.

From a Disney $ perspective --- yes, but looking at it from moral obligations---no way!

"And again, barboy, the number of significantly ill people, many of whom had to seek medical attention, is FAR above the 2 deaths."

Maybe next time they will diligently READ the warning signs or if they did read them then heed the warnings and not ride. That is what I did. I read signage and decided not to ride. Later, I did decide to ride and now I won't do it again. And here is the kicker: if I would have become sick I most certainly would not be on here telling others something needs to be done about M. Space after I was warned multiple time in the queue.

Just like in South Lake Tahoe when I was a teen--- I heeded the triple black diamond warnings and chose to go down a "blue" instead.

And people still ignore the crossing gates, and still end up getting injured/killed.

Kind of like all those warning signs Disney has on Mission Space, those are kind of like crossing gates.

I'm saying these two people didn't know they had the preexisting condition so the signs were irrelevant. They didn't die on the monorail, the tram ride into the park, the plane on the way to Orlando, etc. They died on Mission: Space...a ride that has made many other people ill. Many of those people likely read the signs and determined that no other amusement park ride had bothered them and...why should this one?

I'm saying perhaps the general population can handle the forces on this ride but for the people who can't, how would they know until they get on?

I'll say it here and now. If there are more significant injuries or deaths on Mission: Space I'll hold Disney accountable and I'll got to law school just so I can represent the cases.

OK, lets just say those 2 people who sadly passed away on Mission Space, died on.... lets just say they died on IASW, would you be calling for the same things that you are with Mission Space? Because if you have a preexisting condition, you could die on virtually any ride.

But, I'll give you an example. There were two deaths at Cedar Point on the same ride within two years of each other. That would have been cause for alarm if they wasn't already 20 YEARS of history with no incidents AND if there was documented cases of ride related injuries.

On Mission: Space there is little historical data...no comparable ride in the WORLD to compare it to, and a very short history of trouble including two tragic deaths.

I readily admit that accidents happen, many of them not in anyone's control. I'm just no so quick to say that the ride isn't a source of the problem here.

Yes, didn't we cover this a few times already(I know I did at least 2 times) so why are you bringing it up as if you are appalled that I don't understand this.

"I'm saying these two people didn't know they had the preexisting condition so the signs were irrelevant".

No. The signs are very relevant because they warn of motion sickness. It was you, wahoo, who invoked not just the deaths but the "seriously ill" people right? All I'm saying about the signage is that Disney warns and some people don't heed.

But still people need to take responsibilty just as I did when I chose not to ride initially.

If one doesn't heed the warnings and gets very sick--even hospital sick--- then that's his/her poor decision and the rest of the millions of riders should not be denied fun because a few either willfully ignored warnings or came to WDW with undiagnosed adverse health conditions.

The truth is, Mission Space statistically exacerbates unknown medical conditions more than the 398 other Disney attractions opporating in the world.

Astronauts have physicals for a reason, park guests do not. This attraction compromises the first foundation of safety, and this also affects show.

Glad you enjoy it, but I'm not even going to chance it. I wish Disney had invested in a family friendly attraction instead.

There is a duty to care. I operate a 102 acre park. If people were getting sick on my baseball fields I'd have to find the root of the problem. If the root of the problem was a pesticide and the vast majority of people didn't have reactions...but several people did...and died...I'd have to make some changes in a hurry.

Anxiety attacks can cause you to hyperventalate and feel like you can't breath and also affect you heart rate. If you already have a heart condition, (I'm guessing) this could cause heart trouble. I won't ride it agian even though I thought it was cool. The rest of my family loved it and didn't feel funny at all. I would say use you best judgement and listen to your own body if your worried about it, I would suggest that you don't ride it. I feel terrible for the families that lost their children and family members on this ride. I can't even try to imagine how they feel. My prayers are with them.

Actually (other then the two who died from pre-existing conditions), I have yet to hear of any person who became ill from the ride who has sustained lasting physical damage from the ride. Seems that everyone that I've heard of has been carted off to the hospital only to be released shortly thereafter. That doesn't sound seriously ill to me.

Motion sickness can look a lot like a heart attack or a stroke. The fact that these ill people are quickly being released from the hospital says that there is nothing serioiusly wrong with them.
