Oh, and this one debuted in summer of 1994, so we're just inside that 15-year window. And again, that just speaks to the general BLAHNESS of what WDW has largely opened since then.

I guess that kinda makes it a classic too or in some circles anyway. I mean, I enjoy the Matterhorn and I understand why some folks see it as a classic. But, for me, it's not all that special. And I do view Everest as WDW's Matterhorn. ... so ... while I can see both sides to this (and can argue both as well) I'm sticking to what I've said. The only two classics WDW has churned out in the past 15 years are ToT and KS. Feel free to disagree!

Some people now declare it the centerpiece of AK although I think KS will always really be that. Just look at the detail of the work that went into this ride. Yes they cut the budget on Mr. Rohde which restrained him from doing some things, but I still think it will be a classic masterpiece if someone would take the time to fix things up a little. Just look at the queue. The detail of the Nepalese village. Look at the details of the mountain. The village built into the side. Even the back of the mountain that so many of the folks have conplained about depicks a mountain village. Look at the quality of the detail of the ride vehicles themselves. Yes they need to make sure the Yeti, the waterfalls, and steam, and cloud effect are all working. Get rid of the stick bird or replace it with a true AA, and darken the inside of the mountain. Tell me you don't look at EE in the day or at night when it is lit up, and think of how stunning of an attraction it really is Spirit.

It's also the best example of WDI E-Ticket creativity in Florida in many years. I guess it just bothers me because it never works the way Joe and his team intended and with just a little more investment (and care) could have truly been an amazing attraction.

Rode up the lift hill (great detail in the temple). Got to the bird on the stick (still no fog anywhere). Rode to the first encounter (fun). The projection was good, and we got really excited to see the Yeti. Rode forwards, through a black cave, no yeti to be seen. We told the cast member, they shrugged. (this was a couple of months after opening). We tried three more times during our vacation and the ride was 101 every time. It was a disappointment.

When a beautiful, well themed e-ticket ride that is so popular is in this bad of shape for so long. All I can say is that's just a disgrace.

DHS was pretty well maintained. Are the parks like the resorts and run separately because it seems to be in better shape.

There were a lot of wonderful memories on that trip too. But where there are declination threads, if I have evidence I can contribute to, I will, totally. Bobee, I don't regret going in so far as we had some great memories with Tom and Joe, Doobie and rebecca, -em and the UKFAN posse. I wouldn't trade those for the world. Heck it could be worse, when my wife and I got married in Lake Tahoe, her Grandfather died while we were away. One trip we went to DLP, 9/11 happened. Sometimes we do not have a lot of luck on our vacations.
