We've adjusted our plans slightly and will only stay there part of our trip, so I called back to reduce it to five nights. No problem, but I did the math over the phone and they were trying to charge me for 6 nights! I made sure they were only charging me for the five I was asking for, and it pissed them off I had caught them. I think they might try this trick quite a bit, and most people wouldn't think of adding up their bill. I would definately check your receipts first.

But what happened with the charges is that the desk clerk charged quincytoo the amount she requested he charge when she checked out. The rest was to be put on my credit card a few minutes later when I checked out. I specified who I was and asked them to put it on my credit card. Received a "paid in full" receipt which showed the two separate and correct charges. But as we later discovered, they charged quincytoo instead of me for the second amount, in essence charging her for the entire amount but in two separate transactions. Quincytoo talked to Carlos the manager yesterday, and it appears that he has reversed the second charge to her card. I talked to him today and authorized him to charge my card for the remainder of the bill, minus a small discount I verbally beat out of him for the absurdly bad accommodations and incompetent and/or rude customer service. So despite the fact that I had a perfectly acceptable stay there this past October (rooms were fine, service was fine), I will never stay there again. No matter how cheap it is. They just dropped the ball too many times in too many ways this time.
