It's kind of gross.. and tacky. Also it is blatant thievery when you think about it in terms of the price people pay in the end for shop-lifting. I know it's not the same (and heck if a homeless person steals bread at a grocery store you think they'd need it vs. a pack of cigarettes, oth but I'm digressing!) However, when people takes stuff in general whether it's helping themselves to whatever.. whether it's merch or food & drink or grocery items, the rest of the consumers pay for it in the end with higher resort fees and higher food costs.. etc. I don't think the coke syrup itself is free, but when you think of the labor of having the Cast members who have to clean up the sinks & the soda machines and stock all that stuff.. and empty all those trash bins.. their wages are reflected in the admission and resort rates I'm sure. I like staying on property and I like my mug.. I like that folks don't trash the resorts or that at least they have people employed to clean up the messes made by others. I'm willing to pay for my mug. I just wish other folks would see it that way. (and yes I know WDW is an incredibly rich corporation, but they will only stay that way if folks continue to enjoy themselves within reason).
