She came back in and said nothing--just waited for someone to notice. Finally someone did and we all just freaked out. Dark and shadowy out--we couldn't tell who it was--just someone looking in the window from a small distance. Very scary but fun memory!

If it doesn't work you haven't put yourself out too much. The saw sound would be a great addition. The party was never complete without watching the video of Thriller. It's actually pretty creepy in more than one way The last year DH had to find it on ebay as none of the rental places carried it anymore

We had a little buffet of food and junk food so the kids helped themselves throughout the night to snacks. It was really funny because only one of these kids have been to my house before, so to find their way to the buffet table or the bathroom in the dark made for a lot of banged up knees. They started with the most current Texas Chainsaw Massacre. A few of the girls were a little grossed out, so the boys teased them. All in fun. Then we watched Scream. During the first murder scene when ghostface is taunting Drew Barrymore on the phone, I walked out of the room very quietly to go to my closet to get my knife, ghostface mask and a strobe light flash light. Since it was icky outside, I opted to wait in the hallway until ghostface attacked Drew Barrymore, and at the same time I turned on the strobe and ran out of the hallway into the living room wearing the mask and waving the knife like a crazy person. A few of the kids flew off the couch towards the front door, and the girls just started screaming. Man, it was great!! We ended the night with Final Destination 3 - this movie kinda bored some of us and by this time it was after midnight. All but one of the kids went home, and my DD's friend Casey spent the night. They continued with Rocky Horror Picture Show before we called it a night. Thanks for all of your suggestions. The thunder and lightning really helped me put a scare into the group!
